Maxim Van Gils has reportedly asked to be released from his contract with Lotto-Dnsty. Rumours that he's RB-Bora-Hansgrohe bound.

Tom Schellekens from Visma Dev team to KMC-Ridley MTB team; LA Olympics on the MTB is the target, and Visma aren't the team for him to achieve that.

Maxim van Gils has had a decent season so has decided his contact no longer applies to him.

Well he did win every stage and the GC of the Vuelta a Andalusia: that's cannibal form.

Lotto are losing Dstny as a sponsor and don’t, to date, have a replacement lined up. It could well be that they’ve indicated to certain riders that if they have opportunities elsewhere, then they should take them.

I first read this and thought it might be sponsor funding related as I've not seen if Lotto have managed to replace DSTNY as yet.
But most articles seem to blame his agent and that its a sporting decision.

Online rumours that Egan Bernal is set to move to Visma-Lease a Bike for next season.

wowsas, that might suit both teams and Bernal, save Ineos a shed load of cash as well.

You'd assume with ineos paying him more than vlab would be. If he does, watch him go win the vuelta.

I think it's likely bollocks personally, mainly due to the money. But it'd be interesting to see how he'd do there. Better than Ben Tulett hopefully.

If I were Ineos I would bite VLAB's hand off for that.
2 -
Sadly, I’d have to say if true they should agree to it

I concur, would be good for all parties I think, and we would hopefully see a resurgence in his form.
Having said all that, I forget which year it was, last year or the one before, but it was stated (And I struggle to see why it would be lied about) that he was putting out either close to his best, or the same power he was when he won the TDF, but that lots of other riders have now surpassed that level - so it may simply be that his best form, is no longer good enough to win GTs.
I imagine if he went to VLB he'd be akin to Yates, super domestique, with a shot at one week races, and or a plan B/C/D for GTs.

Just read a rumour that Pidcock to Q36.5 is back on opening up Van Gils to Ineos but no idea of the veracity of the person making the comment. Van Gils would probably be a better GT option for Ineos if they are determined that is where they want to continue focusing their efforts.

Van Gils is not a GC rider. If Ineos sign him to fill that role, their recruitment team are even worse than I thought.
0 -
That was my comment to be fair. I thought he had a much better GC record than he does for some reason.

I heard similar about 4 weeks ago when visiting my LBS who have recently started selling Pinarellos, they heard that the boss of Q36.5/Pinarello was determined to get him.

Press release later today confirming Pidcock is leaving Ineos according to Daniel Benson. Career suicide if he goes to that Q team.

Good, the soap opera has been going on too long already.

Fair play to Ineos, managing to lose Pidders AND Cummings.

Was never convinced by Cummings as a leader so I can’t say I’m too upset to see him go.
Pidcock going will hopefully close this chapter and bring more stability, even harmony to,the team. Also frees up a slot and a wage.

They have lost a proven competitor there though, his departing will in theory not help them in their quest for wins/podiums in the coming years.
If they get shot of Bernal as well, they almost have a clean slate to work from, but can they entice new riders across is the key question, though with a bigger available budget, they have a better crack I guess.
They have their tie up with the development team from next year I think too?
I can't see any huge turnaround until 2027 at the earliest though, and will Ratcliffe still be interested by then I wonder - time will tell I guess.

Hang around for a few years past that and Pog will be on the wane. Kidding.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
When was the last time a team truly packed? There always seems to be someone looking to splaff their cash on a world tour license.

BMC?

Sold their license to CCC, who, in turn, sold it to Intermarche-Wanty.
