If you zoom in far enough on a specific part of that graph taxes are clearly coming down Brian

That may be his undoing

Fingers crossed they'll raise taxes and remove intraUK trade barriers

New numbers for this poll released. Gap up by 5%.

He'd actually have to do some work. I'm not sure he's got it in him to sort out people's housing problems.

He can make far more money for far less effort being a media windbag.

I'm unclear why you guys think he'd actually do anything

Starmer the lawyer landing a blow on the NHS there...
Sunak fighting back on doctors strikes...
Whole thing really rather unedifying really. Making me wonder if the Monster raving loonies stand in SE Cornwall...
(Niche joke - this moderator needs TLAC...)
Ad break - not sure I can be arsed with the rest.
Only reason I'm back is that the lionesses have bumped the IoM TT Highlights show.
Sunak effectively fires starting pistol on leaving ECHR

All I can say is thank god this isn't the first of six. Sunak is as tetchy and annoying as you'd expect. Starmer is coming across like the man who's engaged in an argument with an idiot and has had to stoop to their level.

Audience actually laughing at sunak for bigging up his national service plan

Yeah being dragged down to debating the national service plan is embarrassing

Yes, I don't know why he didn't jump on the £2,000 extra tax for everyone straight away. It was repeated so often it started getting groans from the audience.

"Please explain your entire plan in 45 seconds, while having someone shout over you."
What a crock of shit.

Starmer very uninspiring and looking a bit flustered on occasion.

You Gov score it 51:49 to Sunak.
An (effective) score draw when you're 20pts behind is a good night for Sunak.

Starmers bar to clear required a pole vault whereas Sunak basically had to just not be sick on his own shoes so given that, the yougov score draw seems about right...
Details not good for rishi (🧵)

Not really, one just had to do better than the other and as I saw it, Sunak won that one.

Sunak's closing statement could have been one of your posts Stevo 😂

Didn’t watch it but overheard some pundits discussing it as I walked past the TV who were saying much the same as most on here i.e Starmer is being overly cautious in avoiding anything that might affect their lead in the polls. I’d much rather see Rayner taking on Sunak. I don’t think it would be risky to really rip into the lies and policies. Hopefully the BBC can manage a debate better than ITV and have someone more robust chairing things.

Wish they’d make it a less stupid format.
Give em 15 mins each to kick off, and let them ask each other 3 questions each with 5 mins per answer.
