Jumbos tactic of the day is to ride one rider into another. One looks down badly.

Pidcock chose a good time to get off the front of the peloton.

Yellow and white are safe and sound.
Nob head in the crowd brought Nathan Van Hooydonck down.

    Good for the break

That was nasty. The JV rider didn't move for quite a while, surprised he's back on the bike.

Looks like Pidcock had been caught before the crash as he’s back in the peloton.

It was another Jumbo who got taken out by the fan, who then took out Van Hooydonck

The second Jumbo rider to go down needs a concussion check. Back of his head didn't half whack the tarmac.

Col de Forclaz has stunning views back across the lake towards Annecy. The last few kms are pretty tough. Steepish descents too, with a flast section mid way down.

Kuss the other JV rider down apparently and off the back.

All back now. Surprised the break hasn’t gone out more given how slowly the peloton are riding.

    That could cost Jonas later.

Both EF and Israel have managed to get half their team in the break.

No-one really working in the main break, it’s far too big. Despite that Alaphillipe and Lutsenko aren’t stretching their lead much.

Jumbo should have let that earlier big group go. Now there are 37 riders away and they now have two banged up riders, including the best climber in the race.

That was van Hooydonck, really surprised he got back on the bike let alone as quickly as he did. No way was he properly checked.

Nobody in the breakaway is within 15 minutes so no problem for Jumbo

The break has gone. Surely Alaphillippe and Lutsenko need to review their choices.

It’s turned into a slow bike race. 30 odd lead group that isn’t really working stretching their lead out over 4 minutes to a peloton that has completely sat up. That break ought to get organised and push on.

They didn't really throw the anchor until well after Kuss got back into the peloton though - I noticed as he'd wrecked the race of a load of Lanterne contenders by dragging them back up with him.
