Amstel is the first of the Ardennes races, without actually being in the Ardennes hills

Everyone's favourite cycling geology account has some... geology here

The women (or "Ladies" as the race organisers would have it) have about 35km left. Quite a quick race and quite damp and most of it missed by live coverage, again.

The front two are being reeled in, gap down to just over 30"

As for the men's race, I'm not convinced Pog will take it. He's the single top favourite today, so he has nobody to play off against. He's going to have a lot of work to do

Demi Vollering takes it. She was part of a small group that made the selection last time over the Cauberg (final climb for the women), managed to get a gap and had Kopecky as anchor for the group chasing

Vollering hit em with well timed move

You may be right. Not like anyone on the start list wants to go down the road with him

True sporting shock to see SD Worx take the win (and second).

Just heard the dreaded words that Carlton is commentating on the men’s race. I’m glad it isn’t full race coverage.

The men have just under 100km to go and no break has formed

Edit: there was a break but it got caught

They’re not going to show much of the men’s race at this rate!

Disappointing watching the women’s podium presentation, my money was on Vollering downing her beer in one.

Cosnefroy? Didn’t see his name and I’ve picked him in PTP.

    All back now though.

Bizarre they are not showing it, a technical issue I guess.

    It's gone out to 45"
They might just be letting it stay out for a while with Pog working
