    80s Beemer?

Of all things, mechanic is trying to convince me to buy a 3 litre diesel E92 BM coupe. Tempted... not sure yet.

I'd like an E46 330i coupe, in manual, but rare as rocking horse poo out here.
My admitted uninformed opinion but anyway...
If you are getting a Beemer why sully yourself with a diesel? Get a 6 cylinder petrol one.
I tend to agree, but he has a point. The 3 litre diesel is stupid-fast, and for where I drive is actually somewhat sensible. Any time I go out the door I’ll have a minimum of 60 km round trip on country roads just to get to the nearest supermarket, and often as not at least 100 km trip to the city, almost all highway. Diesel is ideal for that.

If you are going all practical then a Skoda Superb in diesel trim is the car for you.
    Not for me though. 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

    C35 or C45 AMG C Class?
    Did you mean A Class? There isn't a C35 or C45.
    Mea culpa, I meant C36 and C43.

Virtually non-existent here worth buying, and I don’t know any local Merc specialists I can pester for advice. Having said that, there’s been a couple of S class come up. If I see one in the right colour combo I might be interested
S classes are lovely but are pricey if they go wrong and I doubt Taz has an extensive 2nd hand Merc spares market.

I already *do* practical - my daily drive is a BM 535i wagon, the 3 litre turbo six petrol. Just fancy a coupe for a change. Skoda Superbs are nice enough but a bit low rent...

Narrowing it down now then. 😉 You have the estate and the convertible.
No need for a big car. Is the coupe to be 2 or 4 seats? 🤣
