Eventually, scientists will have calculated that to do the hour, the air pressure has to be 813.5hPa, the rider will have to have an overall drag co-efficient of no more than 0.27, weigh no more than 74.9 kg's and no less than 74.8 kg's, and is no more than 183cms and no less than 182.5cms tall with a tyre pressure no more than 123.764 psi and no less than 123.762 psi, in a velodrome where the Oxygen levels are no less than 21.2% and humidity @ 29 degrees centigrade with an air density of 0.940kg/m3 and they will have to exceed 332watts average for the 60 minutes on a bike with 59 x 12 gearing at a cadence of no more than 106 and no less than 105 with a chainline that does not deviate more than +/- 0.00001 mm from the centre.
The Worlds' course wasn't Ganna's forte, not watched much as yet but the previews were describing it as technical, which is why I PTPed local lass Grace Brown, local knowledge and she almost got it until Ellen vD pipped her. Ganna is more flat out power. So the track circuit reps should suit him. We will see.
Despite the technical nature of the WC TT course (and it was a bit rolling), I don't think Ganna is at his best. Perhaps he is aiming to peak on October the 8th but would he elevate the hour over the rainbow stripes?
It is fair to say that his all season has been a disaster… I am not convinced he can make up for it with a blistering performance on the boards… he might beat it, but it will be marginal
... it would also be pretty embarrassing if he didn't beat Bigham... same bike, same venue... can you imagine the best time triallist in the world, 4 times pursuit world champion can't match the time of an amateur aero-engineer, who didn't even get a medal at the Commies...

But who managed to beat the efforts of all the greats that went before him. I accept technology has improved even since the previous record was taken but I think Bigham's record shows how specialised doing the hour is.
Wasn't Bigham a bit sketchy according to some bloke who posted on the Bigham thread?
That was a single poster with nothing more than a gut feeling.
“Road racing was over and the UCI had banned my riding positions on the track, so it was like ‘Jings, crivvens, help ma Boab, what do I do now? I know, I’ll go away and be depressed for 10 years’.”

Bigham is a bit sketchy according to some bloke on the Internet who knows the rider intimately after once seeing him buying some Evening Primrose Oil in Holland & Barrett and because he associates with Sky/INEOS he’s obviously confirms him as megagroovygravy guilty.

Looking good so far (that'll piddle on those dissenting pessimistic chip eaters).
