It's all well and good to design a course that encourages day after day of these manic starts, but what about the implications for anyone who otherwise might consider setting up an early attack on the Galibier?

More or less guarantees that there will be no GC action before somewhere on the Granon.

Makes up for the fact the stages are all so short. How else you gonna create fatigue?

Nice to see that my Lacet's time of 14:17 is much closer to pro than average.
    Cheers me up does that.

Which of the various Lacets segments is that PB?
    I'm 15:54 on this one: https://www.strava.com/segments/18588694 and 12:26 on this: https://www.strava.com/segments/9805364

    The first one.

I won't be mentioning my Galibier time. 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Nobody from Ineos, they're just letting Jumbo play their tactic out and seeing if there's something to exploit later

Hopefully this means jumbo may try and launch on the galibier and jump to riders ahead for the descent /valley ... If laporte and WvA can get that far deep into the stage .

In Wales they'd have just gone straight up the side of that.

They did exactly that, just out of my town.
Looks just like Primoz Roglic’s other sport.

The replacement section on the railway cycle path, just above Llanelly Hill.
Couldn’t be bothered to zig zag the tarmac, so just went straight up the side of the mountain.

    Well there you go.

ITV & Never Strays Car have managed to get Lizzie Deignan on commentary and podcast duties for the week.

Well worth a listen on either!
