Happily this stage looks a lot better than your predictions.phreak said:
It's hard to see main roads being shut for the race, so I sadly suspect it will be a crit race around Ryde sea front. The local press seems to be focusing on Ryde rather than anything more picturesque (and challenging) on the south of the island.N0bodyOfTheGoat said:Can't see route info for IOW, can't see them going up the Ventnor esplanade to Down Lane climb, as the stage finish.
Gloucester stage 6 looks to have some good ramps in the last quarter after Wooton under Edge.

Yeah, I was just looking at that. It looks like they cover pretty much the entire island, which is fantastic, and I've ridden pretty much the entire route in one way or another. The climb into Ventnor and along the military road will be fantastic. Certainly up there with some of the coastal roads out of Girona imo.Mad_Malx said:

Doesn't come past my house"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

Can't be a tour of Britain then. 😉mididoctors said:Doesn't come past my house
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Will be good to see how they go if the wind blows on Chapel Fell (as it usually does).
As per normal though, the climb is so far out from the finish that it's unlikely to influence the stage result.0 -
Starts Today!2

Surprise surprise, it’s absolutely chucking it down. Welcome to Scotland.

They need to get a shift on, or they will be in cloud by the time they get to Glenshee (according to the Met Office). Brisk cross/head wind for the latter part?0

VIP area has had an upgrade this year with a new swimming pool... also nice water feature for the final 4 km down to the Clunie walkers car park.
Absolutely pishing it down.
STRONG headwind of 30mph from Ballater 40km to go.1 -
I'm guessing that this is not televised? The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

It's live on ITV4 now...pblakeney said:I'm guessing that this is not televised?
Or at least it should be. Weather (wind and cloud) conditions mean the pictures can't be transmitted.

I only popped out to pick some beans....
Looks like the met office got it right this time.0 -
Live coverage reported as delayed, but from ITV 4's new schedule, it looks as if it has been cancelled altogether.
I wouldn't be surprised if the planned full coverage of the Maryland Classic, this evening, goes the same way."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Eurosport yesterday said coverage from 1200. Now not finding anything on schedule.0
-
Apparently strong winds mean they can't get the hoists up for transmitting from the finish.0
-
Wondered why I couldn't find it.
Thanks for the updates. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

That explains it, turned on just after I thought live coverage was due to start and ended up watching The Sweeney with Monster Carp just starting.blazing_saddles said:Live coverage reported as delayed, but from ITV 4's new schedule, it looks as if it has been cancelled altogether.

These are the roads I spent the whole of lockdown riding.
I got married at the chapel of garioch, the sharpish left before first sprint. Done suei hill a few times too. Fantastic hill in both directions.0
