Yeah that McMurtry Speirling is incredible. McMurtry is the bloke who started owns Reinshaws. All the dust created by the fans is quite a sight to. Pinno would know nothing about that as he's just a bolt and screw man.

Dull car thread:
Dropped my old nearly 20 year old Skoda Octavia in for a front shock replacement. Had a 3 year old Fabia as a courtesy car. It was very very nice. Felt almost tempted not to go back to the garage and keep the car. The decals plastered over it changed my mind.
It was also nice to be back in my old car. Shows ages doesn't really matter as long as it works.

Skoda has come on a loooooong way since the Estelle but then it was VW who turned Skoda into a decent car manufacturer. I was tempted by the sporty Octavia (vRS) but depreciation is a killer in the marque unlike Pi$$rats and similar exec. vehicles. Despite them made by the same company a few hundred miles away.

My motor just clocked on to 200,000 miles. I’ve had two previous ones that got over 190,000 but that’s the first too make it to 200k.

You see that the solid state batteries are just around the corner. They will lop 300kg back off the weight of cars. Electric could get interesting at that point.

We'll see how these things develop. Until they sort the big points like weight, range and character to my satisfaction, I've got a very good car that I'll happily hang onto for a long time.

We had a fairly new Fabia as a hire car a couple of weeks ago on holiday. Very impressed all round.
A decade a go I used to occasionally beg a lift from a colleague who drove an older Fabia and each time another bit of trim had fallen off and was bouncing about on the back seat.
They've obviously made enormous leaps in quality
