It is all about how it looks. Read the thread on ageing and you'll understand why. We are all old and slow.

it'll be weird for the first 600 yards then you won't notice it.

    Trust us.

tbh, once that is done then leave it two weeks and get rid of that rubbish below it as well.

    Wheels look proper.

It will simply be one more body part that hurts. Will you even notice?

Alloy steerer so star but that’d need hammering further down.

Can I also point out the ridiculous attention to detail in the bottle cages? Orange on black for the downtube to match the orange logos and flashes, grey and white on the seat tube to mirror the grey and white lower down the frame. Fishing, maybe, but it is ALL about how it looks!!

Sorry hadn't noticed. The one on your seat tube looks too low. That stands out a mile.

Yeah that could be true. I’ve let myself down there. I’ll fix it shortly

Yeah, maybe. Just did a short turbo sesh, trying it out. It was fine but I’ll put it off for a short while still, try it properly. Looks good without the spacers underneath though, eh?

    That looks very good indeed.

I realise it's very much against the rules but I must admit to having loads of spacers under my stem as well but never had the urge to get rid of them all & slam it.

Much like you I don't think my ageing back would take it.

Not yet. I’ll try it for an hour tomorrow and if I get back without neck ache I’ll trim it then. Cannot say fairer than that!

Thanks! I’ve gotten a lot more flexible lately, at least in terms of my neck and shoulders, so it may be time. Deffo going to try it out first though. If it’s fine after an hour then it’ll be fine I think. Just no going back if you get it wrong 😱

It will feel twice as long though if you worry about everything.
