That podium is probably all Jumbo next season.

Stephens stated that, not sure it had been announced officially anywhere though?

What's this Wiggins is saying about Thomas and him feeling he's been knifed in the back?

Oh my god I just saw the men’s 4 rowing.

    What a disaster. 😱😱😱

Bad enough to have bad steering, worse to put another crew in the sh!t.

Seen the footage of the Norwegian double?

    r.
I have not, will keep an eye out.

Rohan doesn't look happy but I guess he came here for gold. For Dumoulin I'm guessing a silver is above expectation - certainly above my expectation .

What's the point, if you're not there for Gold? Discussed this at length with Miss6899, last night. I can't understand how anyone is happy with anything but Gold, considering the commitment needed to perform at the Olympics. Miss6899 made the point "imagine 4years ago, in Gymnastics when we knew Biles was going to clear up, you'd be happy with Silver"... I wouldn't have bothered, if I knew Gold was 99% an impossibility, take the family on holiday instead.

But then I'm an incredibly sore loser.

For his his bitching about the Daily Mail, Wiggo is no stranger to stirring the pot.

(I also think he might be projecting his own situation onto Geraint)

I guess it is where your expectations are, right?

I've 100% been in races where getting second felt almost as good and a win, and i have equally been in races where coming second is utter dejection.

These athletes know roughly where they're at and especially in the olmypic sports like athletics, swimming, gymnastics, where the performance is absolute and comparable to all your other performances, all you can really hope to do is do your best on the big day.

If you do that, you can be really proud, and pleased - especially if it nets you a placing higher than you would have expected.

WvA a bit shagged out in the heat . They all looked drained at the finish . Thought ganna would do better .

Roglic is a strange one. Never seems to get effected by failure . Just carries on. TD is back he looked good

There wouldn't be any sports then with that attitude. For some people just going to the Olympics is a win. If those people who know they can't get a gold didn't go then there'd be like 5 competitors per event tops.

    How sad.

Geraint has just said the same thing in his post-race inerview, so I don't think Wiggins is projecting at all.

He said "people like to stick the knife in". There was nothing about being stabbed in the back. He could have been talking about the press, the team, internet forum people. Who knows. But I think his actual quote is less shocking than the mis-quoted "knifed in the back" which suggests treachery rather than just criticism.

I'm not saying my attitude is correct, btw. In fact, it's way off normal thinking!

I've never entered the club TT. No point - wouldn't win.

GBR's depth in men's 200 free has been years in the making.

They won that relay at the 2015/17 Worlds (Guy was individual champ in 2015 too) and got silver in Rio.

Dean and Scott came in as the fastest two this year.

Interesting stat - golds in the last 4 women's ITT have all gone to 35+ year-olds (down mostly to the Kristin Armstrong trilogy).
