You realise that this is just steroetype cr@p trotted out by lazy motoring journalists, right?

I've rented a few Fiat 500's. For the love of god don't spend actual money on one.

I had an Alfa Giulietta as a company car as I don't want to follow the crowd and go for a Golf. Within a few months I was wishing I'd gone for the Golf.

i've driven Abarths and 595s and they are wonderful.

The standard 500 is appalling flaccid and awful.

The most fun car in this segment must be a GR Yaris. It should be good in terms of depreciation too if the miles are reasonable and it's looked after.

    I had a Alfa 145 Cloverleaf 2.0.

Best car I ever had. Loved it, was really quick, it was like a van when I put the back seats down for taking the bike out and never broke down once in 9 years of owning it.

    Well,

garage has come back with a price for a new one that is below Forces' discount and was going to be my highest price, so will haggle over £500 and a couple of tanks of fuel.

They also have a funky second hand one that I'll borrow and ponder about that.

This is the mistake that Italian and US car manufacturers make. Leather seats does not make a car luxurious if all the other surfaces are made of Bakelite and Lego, the switch gear is from another car and there is an annoying squeak.

Lego is manufactured to surprisingly fine tolerances. Probably finer than a Fiat dashboard.

You'll probably tell me there already are but I'm surprised no-one is using a version of Lego in real-life construction.

Insulated formwork is probably the closest equivalent.

Lego is made of ABS so pretty durable. I have some mid-70s stuff that inherited from a cousin, which my daughters still use today. The colour is a little faded, but otherwise it's still good.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Lego is a brilliant example of a company reinventing itself when faced with the problem of there already being 60 lego bricks for every person on the planet. And managing to avoid the attention of Greta and her mates.

They are (somewhat belatedly) looking into using recycled plastic.
