What?! Glad I was sitting down.

I like to surprise people :) The communter is 12 yo and a bit knackered, so will be reassigned to mucky commutes/spare communter and pub duty.
Now you'll have to post in Road buying advice.

I doubt that will be an issue, Stevo is quite normal.
I should add in terms of stature, we know none of us are normal.

Having realised what I'd written I clarified, to help with that I'm saying Stevo is not an oompah loompah.

As an exec, he has to go SR and Dogma...
Or should that be a Trek?

Either way, a flashing orange light on his head and some Rapha.

Those were the days - complementary drinks, food and real cutlery, actual service and you felt you were doing something special.
You didn't have to avoid the Chavs by having to go 1st class.
There was even a bit of legroom. Those silly plastic earphone thingies that you plugged in to the arm of your seat were a bit silly but I do remember long haul there was blankets and pillows and young Pinno always took his Brio train set on board 'cos there was room.

That wouldn't be a problem for me then, don't think I've lost weight lately.

Great minds think alike Elbow. I also want something that'll last me ages. Currently have 2 mtbs up for sale to make room.

Ti is nice. Strip it down, buff it up, it's good as new. Mine's a bit trigger's broom, as it's only the frame, shifters and hydro disc brake callipers that are original now. Lovely new enve fork, 60mm prime blacks, mainly sram force mechanical except the shifters, finally got a saddle with a cut out.

Still, the frame is 8 years old, >50k km. That's also a planet X, the pickenflick, before they expanded the range. It's a bit fugly as it's a cx bike, but it's strong, and it's faster than all sorts of high end cf bikes that are ridden round these parts.

See you can get the new Planet X London Road Ti for £1500 on preorder with Rival hydraulic X1. Think I'd pay a bit extra for the Hurricane though for 2x and more road geometry.

The force version is mechanical disc. Rival is hydraulic.

Also, check the lead times. Rival 22 is only 3 weeks.

I've swapped out the dérailleurs and crankset for force over the years, but the rival hydro brakes and shifters have not missed a beat.

Good spot. What a weird spec when the rival is hydraulic?

The communter is on rival hydrualics, now 12 yo and still going strong. No need for anything more fancy.

    Wouldn't have offended me.

Stevo's company makes them. Perhaps he can get a discount.
