Cross 20-21 *spoilers* (NOT rider of the year 2020)

Seems like there should be somewhere to discuss the cross season here, seeing as it's getting dumped in the rider of the year poll, spoilers and all...

Tom Pidcock got a nice result last weekend, and the Namur world cup event is a course he should be suited to, coming up this weekend.

He mentioned that he’s been working on his starts and this seems to be paying off as he’s getting to front fairly quick despite not starting on the front row.

He quite impressed the Belgies, they've been doing articles on him all week now.

I wonder what Ineos have paid to sign him up or have they already been paying him through Trinity racing.

That seems to be dedicated to how to plug your laptop into your TV if your Chromecast has gone walkies etc.

Hey I was just trying to be helpful :(

No issue with it, was just pointing out the thread was about where/how to watch, not the actual racing ;)

Isn't that bit of the forum supposed to be about participating (like how the track forum is about riding track, road general about riding road etc...)... There's no "pro cyclocross" forum

Pretty much, but I guess it's for the same reason as the track section: not a lot gets posted, so little chance of a decent discussion.

  • Getting us back on track - who do we fancy for Namur?

Let's hope Toon Aerts gets through this year with his ribs intact.

    Isebyt for me.

I can’t warm to Isebyt, he’s clearly very talented but there’s something about him when I watch him race that irritates me.

He dumped Puck Moonen so he clearly isn't right in the head...

I think it might be his head that I have problem with. It looks too big for his shoulders.

I think Toon this weekend, given the conditions. Although is pidcock riding? Could be interesting.

As every, i am enjoying the womens races a bit more than the mens, I'm still rooting for Sanna Cant to make a return to the podium.

PS, at what point do we start talking about tyre pressures?

Piddocks riding and I think WvA is back for this one. Apparently he missed last week end to go training in Spain.

Pretty much everyone is riding it. Think it's the first race with all the big names.

Iserbyt won't win. The big guns are racing now.

When you say the big guns are racing now, who else is there apart from TP, MvdP and WvA.

There is only one of those big guns that Iserbyt hasn’t beaten this year I’m sorry to say.

He'll only beat them when they aren't quite in shape. He's good, but MVDP, and to a lesser extent, Pidcock have the measure of him in the big races.

Lucinda Brand absolutely bossing this, 33 ahead of Betsema who has a front puncture (quick change though)

Doesnt actually look super crazy muddy

Betsema fading, being caught by Honsinger and Alverado to make a 2,3,4th group.

Betsema the only one of the three who doesnt pit, takes a gap out of the pits

(Evie Richards back in ?7th, first cross race of the year for her I think)

Betsema spoons a corner however and allows Honsinger to pull a few seconds back. Alverado distanced in 4th now

    Final Lap
    Brand
    Betsema +42
    Honsinger +43
    Alverado + ?50ish

Ha ha, there's a queen of the citadel "competition" I didnt know that. I assume its the QOM for the climb.

Didnt catch the order soz (Evie Richards in 5th)

Betsema making lots of little mistakes, clearly absolutely shattered but just keeps doing enough to hold off the young American

Alverado's Canyon is really rather nice...

Ooooh Honsinger pulls ahead on the cobbled section! Betsema does everything short of grabbing her seatpost to stop her

Brand is going to take it, but the interest is all behind!

Honsinger has a second or two, clearly has more on the climbs, gap growing.....

The US take second... Betsema looks furious. Great Battle!

    Alverado a distant 4th

Evie up to 6th with her characteristic smile/grimace
Ana Kay (UK) in 7th - confess Ive not heard of her at all

Sanne Cant (back from a baby) in 12th
