Incidentally, that was an awesome ride from Pozzovivo to not only recover from that untimely mechanical, but subsequently attack the group of favourites as well.

He's riding better than ever, good to see.

Can Rob Hatch turn the hyperbole down a couple of notches please?

Agreed. I think "the win of the century" particularly caught my attention :D

Blimey... feel that passion. Sagan pulls off a ride like that and most of the talk on the thread is negative about the commentator or PTP.

It's been about 3 or 4 comments. I like Hatch, I got a reminder of how good he is when I was exposed to Kirby for GW at the weekend. Lots of appreciation on here for Sagan's ride and the stage as a whole.

Not sure why you think it so unwise.
Riders remain under team medical staff care whether they are in or out of their bubbles.

Does anybody know if Kruijswijk and Matthews got a second test before confirmation?
I ask because both riders had displayed zero symptoms and wonder if either could be another potential false positive situation.

False negatives are more common than false positives...

I saw somewhere that Matthews was negative. But as pointed out the accuracy of these tests is pretty ropey

Same thing has been posted in the other thread: now tested negative.
If it's true, after the way Sunweb pushed him sideways towards the exit, I bet he's chuffed!

Yup, Sunweb had a re-test done and it was negative , which explains why he had no symptoms.

    Kelderman will be relieved.

  • Perhaps rather late to be saying this, but apparently this stage was Sagan's first international* road race win in a normal trade team jersey since stage 3 of the 2011 Tour de Suisse.

In-between - he's worn rainbow jerseys, Slovakian champ jerseys, Slovakian team jerseys, and various race classification jerseys. (He would have raced in the European champ jersey too had he not bested Cav in Doha).

[* Not including the joint Czech/Slovak championships, of course]
