I don't get Pogacars move. He clearly had bags of energy, just wasted it at the wrong point.

Roglic looked lost in that sprint

Forced Belgium to burn riders which made it more selective and therefore gave Roglic a better chance.

Great ride from alaphilipe, fully deserved that.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again you always end up with such negative racing at the world champs. I don’t know if it’s due to racing for nations and not trade teams. But riders just happy to sit on so they might win the sprint for lower positions. Seems riders would rather finish second or third rather than try for the win and then end up tenth. Meh maybe it’s just me or maybe we need some panache filter for the start list.

An ill advised attempt at a payback.
Pogacar probably the only rider who could have gone with Mr Rocket Heels.

I think it's a wasted tactic when you could have two top class riders at the end instead of one. All he did was help out the other teams too.

I don't get why people think JA is so good 🤗

He should DEFINITELY give all this success up and start riding for GC...

    ;)

Deserved win. WVA finding out what it used to be like to be Peter Sagan. The Belgian tactic seemed to be to hold it all together for a reduced bunch sprint based on the last 30k that I managed to watch which was always unlikely on that course. JA the only one who didn't tie up over the top of the final climb.

I've been round to confiscate his belt and shoelaces.

WvA showed why noone would work with him. Easily wins the sprint for second

Roglic should have worked for him. He was never going win.

This explains what JA was doing in week two of the Tour - putting that finishing touches on his form
  • I'm gutted the rain didn't come.
Two hours of drizzle and showers and that was in the bag for Fuglsang.

I like it, I’m just off to send the email to the UCI.

Do we know if riders still get ranking points for the world champs? Or has the whole hiring riders with lots of points to get a world tour license stopped now?

Because he would rather have finished sixth behind WvA. Or did you mean to quote my other post, and Roglic should have worked for Pogacar? I don't think any tactics would have allowed Slovenia to win.

No. When the five where chasing JA with no climbing left, Roglic was never going to come better than 5th. So should have sacrificed himself on behalf of the rider has been busting his nuts for him for the rest of the season.

I hope he never retires. I want to see him to drop dead at the top of the Muur de Huy having come 9th in Fleche Wallonne at the age of 80.

First time out properly with the big boys, I reckon he can be proud of that. Will be interesting to see how he goes next year.
