Las Vegas is a horrible place to visit and should be avoided at all cost.

Yes but it is staggering in its awfulness and worth seeing for that reason alone.

Everyone else I've met who has been there raves about it. I had two days and a night there in '94 and hated it. Wasted 2 days when I could have been sunbathing by the pool in LA.

Plan B could have been sunbathing by the pool in LV.
On topic, unpopular opinions - sunbathing is a waste of time.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Brian Cox is a liar, astronomy and associated theoretical science isn't "cool" or "mind blowing" it's boring as ****. I'm willing to concede it *may* serve some purpose - god knows what - but don't try and make it entertainment .

Road cycle racing is dull, dull, dull.
Add to that, long distance running such as a marathon, 1000m or 5000m. Only interesting bit is last 100m or so.

Lefties blame their lack of success and their dissatisfaction with life on 'the system' and the government, because it's easier than blaming their own lack of ability/hard work/foresight/luck.

Reduced fat cheese is not cheese it's barely edible plastic.

Most reduced fat food products are artificial and not fit for human consumption.

Cycling is meant to be fun but hard work. So why do people use turbos?

I doubt that these are unpopular opinions.
Related observations. Low fat products have increased sugar. Low sugar products have increased fats. Those that don't simply have lower quantities of product.
i.e. low fat crisps are 28g when the standard crisps are 35g.

Unpopular opinion. Healthy junk food is an oxymoron.

Right wingers attribute their success to hard work and skill, and never to luck. Any failures are attributed to bad luck.

Didn't someone start a thread a while back looking for a low calorie energy drink?

    That was fun.

Around here it's the groups and 'clubs' (a new one seems to spring up every week where a group of equally incompetent cyclists get together and buy some matching kit) that are the big issue as they have no idea how to ride properly in a group. They end up with one in the gutter, another near the centre line and 5 or 10m gaps between wheels and some of the riding styles are so ugly it makes me want to scream!

These new clubs seem to end up doing club rides as sportives - every rider for themselves and little to no sense of group riding - when mentioned that - they decide that so they don't annoy drivers, they'll single out whenever there's a vehicle behind them .... :s

Am all on board with the “cycling (as a sport) is far too popular” take.

All arguments about politically correct terminology (eg colored v black, BAME, LGBTetc) are pointless and self defeating.

Have to agree re sunbathing- waste of time and as boring as...
Can't understand why people pay good money to go on holiday to just lie on a concrete patch next to a puddle of a pool.
The beach - I hate the beach as well. All that sand sticking to your skin just feels dirty.
