"Honours" have no place in a modern democracy and should be scrapped along with the house of Lords and Royal family0

Louie Gohmert just tested positive for coronavirus, and went into the office to tell his staff in person.nickice said:
She still wins for me. People are talking about her being President in the future. It's quite incredible.kingstongraham said:
That's quite a high bar. Even now there's Louie Gohmert and Thomas Massie.nickice said:I think Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of the most stupid people to ever be elected to the US congress.

Is there any opinion of ricks that you wouldn’t trust over everyone else’s.0

Dirty Harry is the first brown suit wearer that springs to mind. I'm not sure Rick is using him as his example.Pross said:

There’s a seriously nice one in Massimo Dutti but it’s far too £££, unlikely to fit and I’d have to spend the same again ££& to make it looks lit.
If I was a rich w@nker as opposed to just a w@nker I’d have quite a few ones in all sorts of colours and fabrics.
Not a fan of the 70s suit not gonna lie, so no Dirty Harry for me.0 -

Mind you, brown suits might make a change from all the royal blue ones that became popular.0

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Not sure why anyone would want to spend money on a suit...
Last interview in 2015 I wasn't even wearing one, I got the job anywayleft the forum March 20230 -
Horses for courses isn't it? I wear one for office based meetings with Clients but not for site meetings where I might end up trudging through a building site.ugo.santalucia said:Not sure why anyone would want to spend money on a suit...

If I was being interviewed for a professional services job I would wear a suit, if I was being interviewed for a lecturer's job I'd wear crumpled trousers and a tweed jacket with elbow patches.0 -

yes, the latter, but I just wore a pair of trousers and a shirt, it was July... I gambled on the fact that I wouldn't want to work in a place where they'd want me to interview in a suit...
I haven't owned a suit in a long time... I got married in 2013 in my dad's suit... the one he got married in 1965... if that's not recycling, I don't know what is...

Yes, it's also possible to look like a shambolic lawyer, social worker, history teacher or private detective.veronese68 said:Is it possible to wear a brown suit and not look like an employee of a certain parcel delivery company?
But it is best if the suit doesn't fit and the @rse is hanging out of the trousers.0 -

We would frown upon a prospective trainee turning up in only smart trousers, shirt and a sports jacket (in American terms).0 -

Round here it seems to be bizarrely unpopular that they’re digging up the pavement to install hyper fast broadband for the whole neighbourhood. I mean, the option for a gigabit connection is 👌🏻👌🏻
People losing their minds over a few days of inconvenience.0
