WFH not only means that I can fully justify my bling (company) laptop, but it has actually paid for itself.

And I'm justifying getting some musical stuff to connect to the laptop to deliver lessons from home... should pay for itself in no time, given that the other option (face-to-face lessons) would have been a non-starter.

Yay. For those without a garden, you can see the outside world for an extra hour tomorrow evening and watch nobody go by.

The foxes can roam the urban streets and frolic to their hearts content. Hedgehogs can cross the roads. Pheasants can bask on the tarmac. I wonder what effect this will have on wildlife.

    Clocks changing, nothing.
    Virus side effects, lovin' it!
Our resident hedgehog has reappeared after her big sleep...

Good stuff. I used to put down slug pellets down to protect plants (they can recover), not anymore though.

I would leave cat food out for them but I have a cat...
However, now that I have re-established the midden, which is under the Rhododendrons and dry, I shall make some Hedgehog houses for hibernation in it.

Not convinced this is the bright side- has everyone else’s drinking gone up?
I only managed one alcohol-free day last week, compared with the usual 3-4.

    - Aided by my panic-buy of supplies from the local microbrewery, who have a very large amount of beer to shift with no pub buyers.

Haha - Bays Brewery in Torquay put out a Facebook post with a similar dilemma, and the got 350,000 enquiries. So I think that your observation might be accurate.

PS - I was at the back of the queue :(

I usually take my own lunch in because I’m stingy and the options at work are a bit repetitive. not having making butties every evening, which I do to save time in the morning, is a bonus.

Well I've had two beers this week whereas my average is usually probably less than 0.5!

I usually find myself having to drive so often that I don't chance it.

There seems to be a consensus that the sort of people who have a party and invite all their friends around, must be stupid.

It follows that the ones who come to party, must be equally if not more stupid.

So more stupid people are likely get infected than less stupid people.

Ditto. Have had more sleep these last 2 weeks than in any normal work week. This is when you start to appreciate the extra hours in the day from not commuting.

This. Absolutely agree. I haven't slept this much in years.

Eastenders are cutting back episodes, they are not filming now and want to keep showing this 'rse gravy for as long as possible, apparently.

I was hoping they could have a story line where they all get the virus and die

Why does anybody watch that negative $h1t. Don't get me started on how much they spent on that set.

Friends tell me it's the same with bloody Archers (can't stand it myself), but if they can't put together a bloomin' crappy radio show remotely with all the technical expertise they've got at the BBC, I wonder what they can do...

    'ucked if I know.

It makes me laugh when I see 'actors' going on about getting a part in it, as if they've reached the pinnacle of their career. If you say so, matey.

And please, feel free to start on the price of the set, really justifies your licence fee doesn't it?

If we want to get depressed, who needs Eastenders when we have the Cake Stop Corionavirus thread? :)

It's so shocking you could do a BBC Panorama special on it.

My kids are home too but fortunately a bit older. I was only referring to the extra 2 hours sleep in the morning by not having to commute.

On a Teams call last week, we had a few people talking about the concept of smart top half for presentation.
At that moment, I looked like Tom Hanks in castaway. It’s safe to say I had taken a very relaxed approach to optional grooming.

I’m on a mission to clear out the bits lurking in the back of the kitchen cupboards and fridge & freezer. Been working my way through lucky-dip frozen leftover dinners of uncertain vintage, because I’m not eating out or shopping much.
    Today I managed to finish:
Very crystallised honey (on toast) for brekkies, best before June 2018.
Juice from manky dried up limes (January vintage), last dribble of rum left behind by MM minor, crusty syrup with only a bit of mould (bb Feb 2019), combined in a glass.
Rice flour (bb 2012 but looked & tasted ok, I’m not dead yet) - made some tasty but slightly mashed dosas.

I think it’s the feeling that my dearly departed parents (working class Scots, served in WW2) would be proud is what cheers me up.

That said, yesterday I found 1/2 a pack of pastrami in the fridge I had forgotten about, rather odd colours, so nyet spasibo.

Watched that food program on Ch5 last night and they talked about BBE dates. What a crock of sh1t. The problem is That many people will see that and start chucking out perfectly good food.
The main thing was leftovers in the fridge. Why? Why not put them in the freezer?
Just had a curry I cooked 6 weeks ago. Needed at least another 6 months in the freezer.

They found tins left over from Scott's adventures in the Antarctic. Despite the lack of labels, the food inside was perfectly fine.
