  • What ever bike you get please please please get one with a threaded bb not t47 buy good old fashioned british threading. You know you have now brexit has happened. Also it the better bb standard. If it must be press fit then the only one that any good is bb86. Please avoid trek bb90. The number of people who have worn bb90 shells is not funny. These people have scrap bikes unles the token ninja oversize bb fits.

I was looking at the same kind of specs and realised building it yourself can save you around £1000.

pick a groupset then a frame and you are set

  • If you fit on a medium you could build this up to be a crackin bike for well within your budget

Tri-UK have LOADS of top end bikes
If your anywhere near Shirebrook the store is massive ( I don't think everything is listed on the website and they will do deals instore...)
Look (I have one!) Colnago, Cervelo, Argon 18, Cannondale, J. Guillem, Orro, De Rosa, Focus....
    Plenty of reductions too.

Dazz where was the factor from? Good choice, I’m in a similar predicament, I’m after a wet weather bike, haven’t decided on whether I’m getting a carbon or steel (Fairlight Strael with Di2 is winning at the moment). Second place is a Giant TCR, but just mechanical Ultegra for £3400.

    Considered one of these?

Not mine, i've actually just coming to the end of a Fairlight Stael build but if I hadn't got that these would have been high on my list:

Just bought direct from Factor UK who did the build. Currently awaiting delivery which is due today and according to factor the build weighted in 6.93kg excluding pedals
  • Which bike shop was offering the TCR with the 20% discount in Ireland? I’ve been looking at the TCR too

  • Forget lightISH! For 4 grand I'd want something made out of dark matter or at least an E-bike powered by one of those Ironman chest thingies. Better yet not dark matter, the bike would be made from lightsaber technology so I could turn the bike off and put it in my pocket.

It was Roe Valley Cycles in Limavady
  • Bike has arrived. According to my scales it is around 7.35kg my my assiomas, cages, mounts and heavier saddle

  • Hi Dazz_ni45 congrats on the new ride. Great looking bike, right up my street. Any chance you can give the spec and what it cost you? We’re you able to negotiate a discount? Thx!
