I'm here, frantically looking to see if there is a way just to see new posts, any ideas?

Forum home, scroll to bottom and there is a "recent discussions" to press which highlights in blue for me and newest posts at top. Well, that works for me :)

    The old posts were better.

But apparently, as this is a new platform, all posts are marked as new, even the old ones, and if you click on the thread links they'll automatically go to where you left off.

Quick quoting test. Looks quite different.
    Image linking is better though.

Edit option is hidden in the icon next to the time.

This seems to work so far, thanks, though can't just select the new ones to open in tabs though with snap links like the old platform (with the icons to the left of threads showing new posts)

Am getting a little confused about quoting but that is because I am a stone cold idiot.

Look under the 'paragraph' smybol then choose 'Quote'

Like this one I made earlier

Alternatively, it's shown in orange directly under every post.

Then again I'm seeing stuff differently to what admin has posted in: "How to use the forum".
For instance in the instructions for posting a pic, I have browse files, but no sign of the choose files they have depicted.
Not that that is an issue for me as I've used a similar feature for years. elsewhere.

Posting a picture off the web I'm struggling with. When I paste the url in the image box nothing happens and there's no insert button.

Not having to upload photos elsewhere is actually pretty useful.

    And it's better on mobile.

I've got my post count back! Can't get rid of the full stop yet though.

So we can post images direct now?
