in summary - religion is doesn't make sense!
It always amuses me that Occam's Razor, which should be applied to religion and suggests that it's all tosh, was named after a religious scholar.

i've not heard it used to disprove god, i've heard people argue down from polytheism down to monotheism using it by removing the number of gods down to the minimum but always starting from the position that there must be a creator of some kind. I guess the next step would be to get rid of that final god!

i thought, due to the lack of an apostrophe, that it was just a statement that ballys mate a bit like when people say swans mate for life.

That the softshell jacket I purloined off the company isn't as waterproof as its many logos claim it is. In fact it has all the water repellency of a teabag.

If I'd simply bought the thing with my own money it would be going straight back to the retailer as not fit for purpose. But since it cost me nowt I think I'll keep it for cold, dry days since it is at least warm and windproof.

I'd recommend the spray on over the wash in version though.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Spaceships will be equipped with radar and will be able to get you home from Neptune quicker than Thomas Cook can get you back from anywhere on the planet.

Well neither thing exists so either option is pretty unlikely!

I've been sailing my entire life and that has really screwed with me.

I always assumed it was a folk sail or something.

The sheet isn't the sail, it's the rope.

    And?
So the rest of the world who use sheets/ropes say things like” what length of sheet will I need for the North Face of the Eiger “ or “ How long does this towsheet need to be”.
  • I guess I was responding to DHL. I did mention I know about sailing so would not be surprised to learn that.

The forecastle thing did, however leave me thoroughly schooled.

I tried to guess fossil before googling. I have heard the expression used before but assumed the spelling was folk sail.

It's the opposite of the poop deck.
