Cracking ride from Thomas. He's set out his position.

    Not what we expected

Did the absolute bare minimum before unclipping. Even bigger blow up than de Gendt

    Terrible.
I've said all along that he isn't quite on it, this year.

    Ciccone gets yellow.

Geraint boss man for Ineos now, no doubt.

Was really good fun. Thanks for the company. Tomorrow will probably be a boring recovery ride

Alaphillipe out of yellow by 2 seconds, great effort from him.

Really good result for ineos. Ciccone in the jersey is good for them

Can someone post the actual result and GC please? I'm assuming some of the break stayed away and Geraint was the best of the GC.

Yes pretty much, Allaphillippe and Pinot just after Thomas and most of the rest close behind. Allaphillippe actually went quite early but just started to tie up .

Ciccone for the overall win then.

And his mum will be happy.

What happened to Bernal at the end?

Just stayed with the group coming over the line. Finished about 9s after G. You might well see more from him on the bigger mountains I reckon. Although Thomas did extremely well today to finish 1st in the GC battle, it's not over yet by a long way.

Quite amusing to see Moviestar burn themselves out again today in the service of Ineos.

Bet Valverde was pleased to see his sacrifice be a complete waste

At least he can now carry the weight of disappointment with ease.

Quintana within 1' of Thomas. I think he'll be happy with the high altitude third week they've got in store. This year is still Nairo's best chance of winning yellow.

That was as good as that stage could possibly have been given how early in the race it was. Cracking rides by Thomas, Pinot and Alaphilippe, as well as Teuns and Ciccone obviously. Thomas is obviously a contender but, just as it was daft to say that he was done when he lost 5 seconds the other day, it would surely be foolish to rule out Bernal now.
