Dunbar. Short stage with a relatively quiet giro so far

    UAE have played a blinder.

From a PTP perspective, bit gutted that Jan Bakelants has got in the BOTD after picking him thrice. He could have been a good pick for today.

This break is gone. It's just a question of how much time some of them are going to take back on the GC.
At the rate this gap is growing, it could end up far from ideal for a few who want to continue to go stage hunting or after the KoM jersey.

I guess UAE won't work because Polanc and Jumbo are too weak to take on the duties yet

Not much use with all those KoM points up for grabs tomorrow.
On the other end of the spectrum, some of the heavy brigade back in the bunch will be starting to sweat over the cut off time.
That will be around 30 minutes, so atm they have only half that to play with and a mini Mortirolo looming on the horizon.

Any of the guys in the break likely to end up in top 5 or so? 15 mins gain in one stage is pretty significant, any of the big names going to regret giving them that much?

Well played by UAE so far.

How much time will they lose on the climb sweepstake?

Looks a bit of a leg breaker and they will do it again in just about 60kms.

Definitely and as for the top couple of kms of the main climb; the bus will be overheating, at that point.

So Sean Bennett and Marco Haller are 40 seconds up ahead of the break.

Is this what the Belgians call 'anticipating' the climb?

Eurosport do it again. Is it my imagination or are there twice as many ad breaks, today?
