Seemingly trivial things that intrigue you

Queuing at departure gates, people stand in a long line when they could sit and wait for the queue to go down. There are allocated seats and the plane won't go without you.

If anyone's involved in IT & security, the BL report on its cyberattack in October is very frank & interesting, even for a non-IT person.

Desperate to get that precious room in overhead lockers no?

So this used to be the case but now, especially on BA flights, there is more carry on baggage than space, so if you go on last, you’ll have be the guy who has to check his baggage in.
Basically you want first dibs on the overheads.

If everyone did that, there would be a queue at the last minute.

I've also been near the front of the queue when they announced that the flight had been oversold, and they were going to have to ask two people to take another flight - goodness knows what happened at the end of that queue, as it didn't look like there were any volunteers.

BB is right, recent versions of android do this too. If you're taking a photo of a group and don't have 1 pic where they're all smiling with eyes open you can pick faces from each photo. Especially helpful with kids.

I've never understood why airlines can't have mutiple queues for each zone rather than just announcing them when there is already one long queue

They need to enforce the size and number of bags more rigorously. Take more and it gets checked in or you get kicked off.

I was wondering if someone would find a possible source photo. My guess is that she's looking not-great at the moment, and that that was the start of the process...

A long time ago and on a long haul flight I know someone who volunteered to get bumped. They were put on the next flight travelling business or possibly first class plus some compensation then arrived about a couple of hours later than they otherwise would have.
Assuming just a normal holiday with no connections to meet or other urgency to arrive I reckon I’d take that. The only thing is if I ever got upgraded I don’t think I’d ever want to fly economy again.

Sorry, disappearing down a Twitter rabbit hole. Must stop.
But it is quite amusing.

Given how crappy the rest of the photoshopping is...
I can't see them doing the work required to get that vogue photo to look like the released photo.

Was thinking it just looks like a Google Pixel 8 doing its 'Best Shot' thing less well than it might. If you were actually trying to fake a photo, I'm reasonably sure the Royal family could run to something a bit more professional.

Ah well, I'm done with it.
I've been photoshopping last night's bike photo.

Or perhaps there would be a steady stream of people walking up to a gate with only a couple of people in front of them. ¾ of the people on our flight all queued at the same time, we sat and waited. Once the queue was down to 3 or 4 people we went up, then sat down the other side of the gate. Several others did similarly. You don't have to walk up as soon as it opens or immediately before it closes.

I once accepted the offer of next day flight, overnight stay in a 4 star hotel with food and drink, transfers and enough compensation to make both flights free. Take up was excessive and I didn't get lucky. 🤬
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I am entirely baffled by the Royal photoshop drama, is there some suggestion of an an ulterior motive or are people really concerned to make sure they only see unadulterated images of their majesties?

Obviously orchestrated by Sunak to take the focus off 30p Lee's defection to Reform.

For those who care about the Royals and other celebs (of which there are many) I imagine there is concern that she has a serious health problem or surgical outcome, that theroyalachine is covering up. I am not one of those people but I do find the PR hash they've made of it quite intriguing.

Yup, that's where I'm at. I'm intrigued, without caring one jot about KM.

Me too. I didn't care one jot. Now I am curious about the reasoning. Backfired.

Talking of celebs why do the BBC insist on the celebrity ‘challenges’ for Comic Relief that are just fun things a lot of people would pay money to do? The wife is watching the current one in the Arctic and it looks great fun.

Same thinking as those who want to be sponsored to walk the climb to Machu Picchu. You mean you want a free holiday? Yeah, na.

The reality is that she probably doesn't want the whole world speculating about her womb/vagina, but for some reason people need full disclosure, and if they are not getting it, it must be a cover up.

I guess she probably hasn't heard of the Streisand Effect. Or she might have done by now.
