    Ok, a theory:

Chris Boardman’s prominence in U.K. pro cycling coverage creates a U.K. cycling culture excessively focused on kit.

They'd have struggled to get the Jalab in on the left side of the road.

They should have just gone for Merckx.

I just tuned into ITV, apparently there has been something about Dumoulin's kit? They brought the wrong shoes or something?

Happy that Craddock has made it round and has the Lanterne Rouge to boot!

Can' he just wear what he wore during the TTT?
I don't know, I just tuned in and Boulting was going on about how he couldn't believe what had happened with Dumoulin's kit.

Said his specially made skin suit went missing. Had all of the kit for third week delivered rather than drag it around for the whole tour and it didn't turn up. Apparently the company delivered him.a new one so no real dramas.

Some nasty cross-chaining from Sagan there. Probably costing him a couple of watts

No, he said that rather than carry his skinsuit around for three weeks it went into one of the trucks, and it's gone missing, so they had a new one made overnight and shipped out to him this morning.

    He lost his skinsuit.

I guess he has to have the rainbow on and even if it wasn't mandatory his sponsors would blow a gasket if he didn't

I liked that Boonen one from a few years ago where the oo was the balls. Had a good chuckle.

The best article I've read in this or any Tour is in @PedaleMag & is about 'Les Effaceurs' - the crack team who remove or doctor offensive graffiti on the Tour's roads.

    The bookies chainrings rating:

    threerings.jpg Roglic
    tworings.jpg Dumoulin, Thomas
    onering.jpg Froome, Kung, Kwiatkowski, Bodnar

G down around 4/1, Roglic is the clear favourite approaching evens at most places, then Dumoulin not too far behind with odds in the 6/4 to 17/10 sort of range (1.25/1 to 1.7/1). Thomas is between 3/1 and 5/1.

This compares to the Inrng ratings:

    threerings.jpg Primož Roglič, Geraint Thomas
    tworings.jpg Tom Dumoulin
    onering.jpg Froome, Küng, Latour

Pretty similar but Inrng reverses G and Dumoulin. Inrng says Thomas has already ridden the course 3 times and it was his pre-race target, but I guess the question is how easy he might take it. As he has noticeably longer odds than Roglic and Dumoulin he should be a reasonably safe E/W bet for OK returns, given what Inrng and other pundits are saying.

Not too sure if Kwia's odds are justified.

Kwiato and Landa improved their TT a lot while at Sky
Kwiatkowski is a very good TT'ist. Polish champion last year and lost last years Tour TT (Stage 20) by just 1 second to Bodnar.

Soren Kragh just came in comfortably in the hotseat, by 30s

Kwiato apparently having a decent ride and might go faster.

If the back wheel was made like a vinyl record and a stylus fitted to the stay, they could play music when they went along. Hills and flats would be a nice sound contrast.

Probably. Though he’s always going to be relatively quicker up those early (and final) climbs than the more rolling terrain in the middle.

Yates 36 seconds down on Kwiatkowski at the finish line. Good job.
