Pedersen told Cyclingnews on the start line in Gent that he had combined a 10-33 cassette with a 48-tooth chainring for the race. The gear range ratios are similar to a 53x11 and 39x27 double setup, albeit with the 12-gear steps slightly further apart.

Good to see something different, but with the UCI limit I can only see it as marketing. I wouldn't mind trying myself though.

what uci limit are you referring to?

Not really Pro race gear (unless you live in the Clinic) but a teaser for a Colnago E64 just popped up on my news feed. Release news on 27/3.

Literally everything is marketing though, this is cycling after all. Don't blame Mads for giving it a shot, if it works then that's great isn't it?

Mads Pedersen at Trek was riding single front chainring at Omloop. Have to say I'm v much liking the look and options provided by the new 12 speed SRAM...

I just can’t like that flat top chain. Doesn’t look right at all.

Man of the moment Mathieu van der Poels Canyon Aeroad. I'm posting this because I thought it was an interesting bike choice for Flanders. Looks nice too.

Electronically controlled 2cm travel suspension with hydraulic dampening. ABS seems next logical step

But limited to 28c tyres. I'd bet that 30c tyres without all the complex suspension would be smoother and faster.

Now that nearly every other company has a copy of the Aeroad as their aero bike, I wonder how long before Canyon update the Aeroad - feels overdue...

New one due later this year apparently. My guess will be just before the tour.

Not really 'Pro Race Gear' and not available in the UK but.....

    Panini Stickers for the Tour

This is one thing that Sky actually have ruined - by changing their team name after printing.

    You mean Ineos?

Sky is to pro cycling like Barclays / boris is to cycle hire in central London

That's the problem. In the album and on the stickers, they're Sky.

Probably best not to try this at home. It's really only for professional stem starers.

Ineos riding lightweights for the mountain stages... They ride Shimano, their wheel sponsor, the rest of the time.

I heard Valverde dropped so much weight, it's the equivalent of a smallish dog. Now if that dog happens to hit the lightweight wheel... devious plan by that Spanish Dastardly and Muttley. The cycling public certainly won't show any Piti for Ineos.

Low seat stays (the aero norm, even Cannondale now) and disc brakes.
