Changed route for 2018;
"The change has been designed to drive competition levels, by making perfect positioning all the more cruicial. Race Director Leo van Vliet commented on the change, saying: “we are looking for the narrower roads on what will make the control of the peloton more difficult.”

    Never knew Zabel had won Amstel.

    Dekker won the year I moved to the Netherlands, and with him & Boogert, thought they would rack up a stack of wins. But not another for NL since then :-0

    Interesting to see what Nibali does.

    Forecast is for mainly dry and warm weather. Winds light-moderate from the SSW, meaning a possible side headwind down the finishing stretch.

    ES coverage starting 1.45 iirc. Wish they'd show the whole race. Hopefully a European channel will have it

    Eurosport tend to show as much as they can, so if their coverage only starts at 1345, that's when the host broadcasters coverage will start

    The break have 15 minutes. There must be a time gap that they just can't get back. 20minutes, 25?

    I just read that it's Cunegos last big race. End of an era.

    I recently read his last race will be the Italian National road Race.

    Though I suppose no national road race counts as a big race, even when it includes Aru, Nibali, Trentin, Moscon, Ulissi, Nizzolo, Viviani, Colbrelli, Caruso, Visconti and Pozzovivo.

    140 odd km to go, the break with 11 mins.

    Don't burn the dinner by watching last year's!

    It can't be beyond the wit of whoever writes the programme summaries which come up on Sky + EPG to include the year of the event.
    Really can't be that hard...

    We got it on TV2 in Denmark, dunno if Eurosport covered it here.
    “Road racing was over and the UCI had banned my riding positions on the track, so it was like ‘Jings, crivvens, help ma Boab, what do I do now? I know, I’ll go away and be depressed for 10 years’.”

    The break will obviously be caught but Dunbar has looked very good, not getting much help.
