Would never intentionally buy anything from China, they are infamous for making crap. The stuff made there simply isnt made to the same standards as stuff made in Europe or the US as far as Im aware. Not saying you cant buy crap over here, but you are more likely to be duped buying Chinese. Their small capacity motorcycles have a particularly bad rep.

Is most the stuff we buy not from far east? Castelli stuff isn't had stitched by some italian working in a nice Tuscan villa

True but neither is it made in China.

Castelli is made in Eastern European countries like Romania & Hungary
  • I bought a kit from a chinese brand (Santic), I didn't expect much, but it was really good quality and I'm very happy with it, nothing like counterfeit brands kits.

Have to say I stand on the fence with this one, although that being said, I have purchased a kit from China and have no problems with the quality for the price, which I guess shoves me off to one side of the fence.
I have also purchased more expensive kit, particularly one set to commemorate taking part in an event produced by one of the higher priced brands, and when the stitching went after 3 months was appalled by the customer service and lack of replacement/refund despite being very careful with my kit. So I wonder, who is the fraud in that event?
What particularly concerns me even more is the personal insults in this thread, quite worrying and disturbing the amount of anger going on here!

Depressing isn't it. You could have a discussion about fluffy kittens and you can almost guarantee these days it would descend into insults at some point. The people who resort to this always need to ask themselves whether they would do this if they were having the same discussion face-to-face with someone. Of course 99% wouldn't.

Are you discriminating against fluffy dog owners?
Joking apart, it makes me wonder if the road rage we hear about against cyclists is really the motorist?
