Yes. I know he would be. Cos he raised me to be honest. You know, not steal, buy fake stuff, stand for what you believe in.
He sounds like quite a man...
He was, I’m just sorry you never had a worthwhile role model to look up to, maybe then you wouldn’t try to justify the buying and selling of counterfeit stuff.0 -

There you go again...
It isn't 'counterfeit' (for reasons which have already been explained quite clearly) - and I don't sell it either. I thought your dad told you to be honest?0 -
counterfeit
ˈkaʊntəfɪt,ˈkaʊntəfiːt/Submit
adjective
1.
made in exact imitation of something valuable with the intention to deceive or defraud.
"counterfeit £10 notes"
synonyms: fake, faked, copied, forged, feigned, simulated, sham, spurious, bogus, imitation, substitute, dummy, ersatz; More
noun
1.
a fraudulent imitation of something else.
"he knew the tapes to be counterfeits"
synonyms: fake, forgery, copy, reproduction, replica, imitation, likeness, lookalike, mock-up, dummy, substitute, fraud, sham; More
You see, your happy to look at the first bit to justify your actions even though the second part quite clearly debunks your sham0 -
Your dad clearly skipped what should have been a number of useful life lessons for you
Anyway, this is too toxic - even for me. I really am out.0 -
Anyway, back to the topic.........0

I bought a "castelli" kit off eBay when I first got into road cycling, I'm pretty sure it was something like £30 or less for a ss jersey and bib shorts, the only previous shorts I'd worn were beginner btwin shorts and I'd say the padding was exactly the same.
Quality wise, the Lycra is fine but they're obviously fake, the print looks like it was photo copied onto the shorts and jersey, but from a far you'd have no idea and as a beginner it felt good to be in what looked like good expensive kit.
Now I only wear the Queens Rapha and black sheep cycling kit... Yeah I'm that kind of guy.0 -
This is turning out like the Brexit thread, though it's not as funny to be honest!0
-
Perhaps we can combine them.
When we leave the EU we will all have to buy the fake stuff becasue nobody will be able to afford the real stuff.0 -

No because the quality and cut is utter shit, baggy in wrong places, quality of materials very hit and miss. I find a brand i like and stick with it, castelli is my choice, you pay a bit more but i buy what i like.0

Strangely most of the Castelli Kit I have bought has gone back - I'm just not Castelli shape apparently.0

Riding partner bought a casteli cafe kit a while ago, he's still wearing it now and doesn't moan about the quality.Advocate of disc brakes.0

380EURO for a pair and shoes and BikeRadar say that they may live up to expectations. At that price I’d expect them to dance the tango for me.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

the "replica" China kit is just standard lycra with dye sublimation for the logos, it probably passes a look test, but it wont be 4 way stretch, or have the comfort/fit, or the cooling/warm features the better quality materials have, the seams will be less well stitched, zips will be lower quality and on shorts the pads will be like the ones they find for the Aldi/Lidl kit.
upto you if want to buy it, but this isnt like supermarket own brand stuff, its cheap for a reason.0 -

It's cheap for a reason, yes partly probably it isn't top quality but partly also lower overheads in terms of marketing and design. Personally I find I have too much cycling kit so these days tend to buy decent quality branded stuff that I need/want rather than just buying something because it's a bargain but each to their own.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

Back in 2013 I bought some Garmin Sharp team jerseys on ebay as there were no XS sizes left with the retailers. I now commute in them. The material and zip quality is nothing like my Castelli jerseys, however the print has not faded, the zips still work and the stitching is still in place.0

Sorry captain pedantic, I meant to say he bought it off ebay via china so it was the fake version.Advocate of disc brakes.0 -
I got a "replica" Ale jersey a while ago off eBay. Cost me £10 and took 3 days to arrive.
It's as good as the cheap jerseys I've bought from Wiggle etc. You can tell it's not the real deal from up close, from a distance it looks fine.0 -
I think someone on here posted the IPhone X as an example. (I now can't find that post so I think that comment may have been edited)
At first I couldn't believe it even you said these phones will be £999. So I looked on Apple's website and you're right, the base model STARTS at £999 !
Makes me wonder how much the working class Chinese women in the factory get paid ? I bet the production costs is a tiny fraction of that money."The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0 -
I recently purchased some supermarket own brand cornflakes which were cheaper than Kellogg's.
They served the purpose.0 -

Fair play but I presume they were labeled as supermarket own brand and not as Kelloggs .0 -

Would never intentionally buy anything from China, they are infamous for making crap. The stuff made there simply isnt made to the same standards as stuff made in Europe or the US as far as Im aware. Not saying you cant buy crap over here, but you are more likely to be duped buying Chinese. Their small capacity motorcycles have a particularly bad rep.0
