I think the rider can be pushed on the red carpet area.
I may be making that up
I read that on cyclingnews this morning.

Do you make things up for cyclingnews? :)

What is this bike change station nonsense? I thought the whole point was another bike needed to come from the rider's support car which needed to be behind the rider, hence it took a while to change bikes.

    I'm not impressed.

It is boIIocks. Even red-carpeted. 4FS

    Like it.

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

I also read it on cycling weekly, perhaps the same writer. In my book though if you CHOOSE to stop and change bikes, you should wear the entire time you lose in doing so, ie no pushing allowed.

I'm not that bothered about push or no push and I'm not that bothered about bike change or not in a Tour/Grand Tour, but in the Worlds ITT it kind of feels like you should just pick a bike and stick to it for the whole thing.

    Bodnar. Oops.
  • No mucking about from the Sky duo.
Kung makes a right dog's dinner of his change.
    Bodnar tastes tramac.

That hill with the crowds is absolutely brilliant. They should definitely do this for the world champs ITT once every few years (maybe about as often as they do a sprinter friendly course for the road race).

  • Have we worked out if a bike change works or not? What did Oliviera do?

I think he changed according to CN text coverage

    Sporza caught it.
He did a flying bike change, but came to a stop just up the road.

The Sky boys lose by a combined total of 1.2" seconds.

That was their first time past the change point, they do another lap before the climb.
