It's ok... the points I get today can net off yours from the day Froome won earlier and I forgot to get my pick in...0 -
Froome looks very happy with that.
Decent rides by Kelderman, Nibali, Zakarin and Contador to ship less than a minute. Wout Poels at 1'11" was a good effort too0 -

Least I didn't put down Dennis last night then have him drop out, that would have been annoying too.0 -

I haven't looked - probably Viviani?
Edit: Oh Ewan won, that's good - after I picked him for stages 1 and 2 and he failed.

Rather amused by Froome looking increasingly sheepish at the jerseys being awarded.0

I'd love him to win the lot, I haven't looked in the clinic for a while.0 -
Anyone noticed how David Millar's eyes move around randomly while he's talking like he's blind?
He looks like David Blunkett.0 -

Haha we all know not to say that!
Froome was superb yesterday, Berti, Nibbles and Kelderman really broker their balls to post excellent times and CF still took a minute out of them. 1-2 years ago that would have been 2-3 minutes. What it highlights is to be a real GC contender you have to climb, sprint and TT... Chavez can climb and finish fast but clearly he can't TT. Aru can err.. and err.....'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP0 -
Totally pointless stage, destroyed the GC race and as interesting as watching paint dry. Time trials in grand tours - firstly to give the big men a chance to take time on pure climbers - that hasn't applied for years if it ever has. Secondly a great day for spectators on the ground - which makes yesterday's choice very odd. Should have stuck another mountain stage in ![Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

I had wondered whether there was much opinion like DeVlaeminck's about TTs. With lots of bunch riding in the GTs clearly having a day when every second counts is valuable, but in a tour like this year's Vuelta where every stage finish has seen different potential GC contenders posting different times (in small bunches) that sort of random distribution of time gaps was well in place prior to the TT (and could have been foreseen as such).
It does show riders in different lights though. There are climbers who can TT. There are climbers who can't TT. There are riders who can TT well at the beginning of a GT and there are riders who can't TT well after 2 weeks of climbing. It adds validity to the perspective that the overall GC winner is someone who can do a broad range of cycling "disciplines".
When you've got a good climber who can TT well, and who also maintains or improves form throughout a GT, you've effectively got the race favourite. But isn't that how it should be?2015 Canyon Nerve AL 6.0 (son #1's)

I might have made the TT a bit shorter but in general I don't mind having an ITT in a grand tour.0
