Do you honestly believe in the team chat they thought he'd get near the yellow jersey? They'd want him up the road (which I thought no one would ever let happen) so make people chase, but they would've expected it to come back more or less.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

More like 25s
Had they sat on, the gap may have grown or Aru would have been tired out containing it.It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -
AG2R were disappointing in support of French Exchange Student today IMO0

Froome is a control freak as are Team Sky. Froome is riding with the TT in mind. He knows if he can control the gaps to everyone, team mates included, then he should have more than enough come Marseille to ensure another TdF win.0

Problem is the "people chasing" were mostly Sky.0 -

But in the interim it rose to 2'10 or so.It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -

It's not the ruthlessness I object to so much as I think it was a bit silly to not make Aru do the chasing.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Froome was never going to want Landa in yellow I think it's simple as that. I don't overly blame him he signed as team leader why open the issue up when you don't have to. As others have already said I'm not convinced it made a huge difference anyway, there were a few in that group who seemed happy to ride, if it had been just Froome and maybe Aru and Bardet it would have been more blatant. No doubt Landa will be peeved but you that's life.
Ultimately a good stage but could have been a great one, really needed some GC action on that last climb.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
I genuinely just misread the caption:
"Barguil, winner, stage 13" as "winner, age 13"Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
Warren Barguil interviewed by Matt Rendell.

Think Froome was just trying to out-distance Aru in the run-in, not thinking of other riders, whether Landa, Quintana or anyone else. Hoped Aru might be tired enough that he could have got a couple hundred metres clear - that would have made up the 6 secs. So yes, own interest and ambition.
But Froome didn't anyway appear himself able to sustain it, even if Aru hadn't latched on.
Although not keen on him, I hope this was the beginning of a Quintana revival in time for the Alps, so the mix continues.0 -

Short explosive stages FTW0 -
The best stage of the year so far, for all the right reasons. Highlights won't consist of multiple slo-mo crashes, just lots of breaks and good or bad tactics.
If they repeat a stage like this, Sky may learn how to neutralise it like they do everything else, but that was good to watch.0 -
Perhaps Landa was told to sit up and ignored it?
That could've happened too....Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

This is how I see it. The attacking on the run in was possibly designed to wear Aru down. A few more stage like that might break him, but not necessarily his first day as leader. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

It's got to be psychologically demoralising at the least, to know that your nearest rival has a team so strong that they have a team mate up the road and another team mate with you in an elite group, while you have no one, and aren't going to have anyone on stages like this because they're either injured or have abandoned.Correlation is not causation.0 -
