I know almost nothing of the internal friendships/rivalries of the peleton - but from the reaction and comments after his sad death and the pictures of him in life

It's still upsetting to see pictures of him smiling away. Ropy connections aside, he seemed like a really likeable fella.

    :(
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Greipel is a good shout upthread.Crazy big gorilla, albeit not on form on this tour and makes some outrageous efforts in the classics. I'd say universally liked. Any dissenters?

Not a big fan, but then I'm a parky b*stard.

    Ozzie no?

    By definition no.

That chucks Cuddles out of the box. I liked CE. He wasn't your usual Ozzie. Tried hard. Never had a team worthy of his ability. Never really moaned about much and always came over as up beat.

There was another Asian at Giant Shimano- Sea Loh Keong. He didn't perform any miracles in his time there, evidently. But he was well liked wherever he went- Asia, Australia and Europe.

No. Was the forum liking of him not some sort of ironic joke?
  • Jens Voigt.
  • ...and Miguel Indurain.

Should have included him with the last post. Bump.

    Jens Voigt.

    Yeah, right.

"Right lads, let's have an easy day today so that we've all got fresh legs in the Alps. Got that, Jens? Jens? Jens! Where are you go- JENS! JENS! Oh for f----"

(Edit - I'm sure he's loveable, but there must have been moments when they could cheerfully have throttled him)

You are saying that Jalabert - arguably the biggest doper in the history of the sport - is universally liked?

    Oh, OK. Whoosh then.

To be fair I haven't got over the shock of learning I'm leading PTP. It's messing with my mind.

Mother in law would not be impressed - doesn't like beards.

I reckon it's hard to find someone who doesn't like Mollema.
