For some reason I've been looking at this stage and struggling get excited by it, I think it must be down to there being more than 25k from the final summit to the finish. Hopefully I'm wrong and the support riders will get shelled on the Grand Colombier leaving a long, hard battle through the valleys. Today will hopefully catch up on people early in tomorrow's stage.
I'm not sure any team is willing to start throw hand grenades around yet. All the GC guys still think they are in contention.
    AG2R didn't read the script

There is a slight chance Klaxons might be needed in the valley - ITV mentioning cross tail winds

It's quite tree lined and in the lee of some hills so I'm not sure wind would be sufficiently constant.

ITV cried wolf all day on Friday. I get that it's nice to get excited about the wind direction but no one has the firepower to really stick it in the gutter without paying interest up the next climb

Good to see the weather has decided to show the World's Prettiest Road™ in all its glory.

I think I was getting too keen - the last two days have been so full of excitement. They breakaway just passed a tricolor what wasn't even fluttering

Quintana is getting some very sticky bottles. Not a job he probably does regularly.

ITV getting the adverts out of the way before ATCs road. Good work, I'm quite looking forward to it too.

No doubt the naysayers will be up in arms though on twitter, trying to say that it wouldn't have that title if their favourte road was included, that it's finished as a road/can't compete without it's lead out road around it
  • It's tough being a fan of G :(

    One for masochists :(

They' cross the Rhône and then there's the sprint and then the World's Prettiest Road™ begins.

Eurosport better not go to adverts. And the sun better come back out.

The leaders are over the Rhône and will soon be at the World's Prettiest Road™.

Best savoured with some nice wine, to really get a sense of the terroir.

Two Cat3s, a Cat2, and two Hors - and Matthews gets a sprint lead out for intermediate. Great stage and Mont du Chat still to go!

Worth putting up with two days a boring flat stages if we get two days like these to follow.
