So for all the hassle around Jan Ulrich - the Dutch tracked him down by the side of the road today.
Turns out he WAS invited and he chose to keep a low profile. Didn't want the hassle and his daughter wanted a birthday party.0 -
Really? LOL! After all the hysteria.PTP Champion 2019, 2022 & 20230

To be fair, Ulrich has never given the impression of someone who would turn down the offer of cake.0 -

I'm really content with my life. Enjoy spending a lot of time with my children. I've left that part [ie cycling etc] of my life behind
I was invited, but wanted to spend time with my daughter on her birthday which I promised.
German press hasn't moved on from the doping which is fine but I don't want the hassle.
I still love the sport and follow it closely.0 -

Always a bit suspect when people say how content they are.
Either means they aren't or really weren't.
Either way, sad face.0 -

Ha! The chapped lips and the sun scar on the bottom lip! He's training for the Vuelta. He's still got it.
I'm still mourning the loss of his inevitable 2006 Tour victory. Best pair of pins ever seen on a pro?0 -

Both Porte and Küng were involved in the crash and both banged knees.

So what happened with Froome's spare bike? Looked like Team Sky have brought along Pete Kennaugh's bike and aren't afraid to give it to Froome for a laugh.
I'd have thought they'd have a spare bike setup for Froome on each team car and it would be in the prime spot where the mechanic can get to it most easily.
Only thing I can think is in the confusion the mechanic didn't realise Froome needed a new bike and was bringing someone else's spare up.
(that crash pic is fantastic)0 -
