there seem to be bits of it on Ebay. nowhere near as much. was looking for some 38mm clinchers, and the old link I had was dead.... others have taken it on including a place in Nottingham that's offering roughly the same kit for around the same price and free shipping...0 -

I’ve had these on my supersix for nearly 2 years, components from Taiwan (as I believe most components are) - but built in UK and 2 year warranty.
They have been great and pretty bombproof - also look pretty good in my humble opinion!
They don’t make me faster measurably, but they definitely provide a much better smoother ride than my stock wheels.0 -

same as hunts for £200 cheaper, only difference is a yellow sticker and not a white sticker. look quite cool tbh.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I can heartily recommend Spin Wheels

www.spinonthese.com
They really are a revelation for me. I've got some 35mm tubeless clinchers from Farsport which are nice, but these Spin Fat Boys are brilliant. They are the nicest and fastest carbon wheels I've had; better than my Farsports, much better than the Carbonzone 80/60 tubulars I had and better than my old Reynolds Assaults.
They are great.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Does anyone know of a Chinese supplier that does Campag freehub disc carbon wheelsets? Annoyingly, the only people that seem to sell them are Hunt or Parcours Velo which means ~£900.0
-
Just get shimano as 11sp works on both and the cassettes are cheaper.0
-
alternatively, shimano or stam freehub with a miche (or other) shimano splined/campy spaced cassette if you aren't running 11 speed.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I'm running Potenza 11sp disc.
I was hoping to run two wheelsets, deep carbon for summer, shallow alloy for winter. Switching to Shimano would mean ditching my current Campag wheels, cassette and chain?0 -
No need to do anything fancy as it is all cross compatible. There is loads of literature on this online and on this forum.
All you need to do is buy shimano wheels, fit shimano cassette. Fit tyres and tubes. Attach to bike. Ride.
*you may need to tweak the barrel adjuster a small amount.0 -
For many hubs you change the freehub body.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

So, I could have a wheelset with Shimano freehub and Shimano cassette (11-28), a wheelset with Campag freehub and campag cassette (11-29) and just swap them without issue using the same chain? I am using a KMC rather than Campag chain.0 -
99.9% sure yes.
If it were my bike I'd say 100% sure but usual caveats apply with strangers on the internet.

If you have friction in the cables or suboptimal setup you might notice slightly poorer shifting, but not otherwise. There’s slightly less leeway for poor setup. I’m using a sram cassette right now with a campy drivetrain and it’s working beautifully, but when I first fitted it I had to fettle a bit as it highlighted a setup issue that had been causing slightly poorer shifting and which the campy cassette had just about been able to cope with.
But you can always swap the freehub on campagnolo wheels if you have to. Make sure you get the alloy one and not the really heavy steel one.0 -

i'll dig it out tonight. they are pretty reasonable and effectively look like carbonzone/ Zuus but with pilar spokes. they trade under a uk and chinese address (but just one URL).0 -

yep. I test rode some campag zipp 404's and had no issues, swapped over to shimano and again no issues.0 -
Turns out Bax Carbon do a Bitex hub option with Campag freehub.
£300 cheaper than equivalent Hunts, although not as internally wide.0 -
works out the 38mm ones I am getting will have powerway R13 hubs and generic bearings, which can be replaced by ceramic ones for not much cost at all if I wanted to get fancy.
I didn't check the spokes, and mine will come with CN aerospokes. what I'll do is get it out for a ride this weekend and see what they are like. my feeling is they won't actually be too dissimilar to my old 303's ( but a lot lighter for sprinting up short climbs). they will be 1450 grams ish.... all for £326 delivered.
they do 50mm at slightly more and at 1480+/- 30 grams... if anyone wants the URL PM me...0 -

Can you elaborate a bit on the faster piece? Have you tested them against the others? BTW, I'm not questioning you, I am genuinely interested and have had my eye on the Fat Boys for a couple of years waiting for a real world review. Francis Cade waxing lyrical about them a year or so ago on youtube is one thing, but other reviews are hard to come by (at least they were about a year ago when i was last looking).0 -
Lots of good commentary here regarding carbon wheels on a limited budget

All testing anecdotal, but....
I use them on my R3 interchangeably with some 35mm Farsports, and I also used them back to back on my TT bike with some 60/88mm U shaped tubs.
The difference is night and day on both counts. I just sold the tubs as I simply wasn't going to use them again. I haven't decided whether to keep the Farsports yet but I'll probably take them to the Dolomites in May and then sell them on after that.
I'm 65kg and riding the Fatboys last week I did feel side winds when crossing junctions but it wasn't too bad and in more consistent conditions they sail.
I've shod them with 25mm Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX
