13 seconds for Zakarin. Good work it seems from Katusha if that is correct.

Greipel wins. Mechanical for Ewan just as he was launching. Gaviria faded fast as Greipel came by.

Good sprint by Greipel. Usually takes him a week to get into his rhythm but he's right there from the start by the look of it.

    Horrible for Ewan.

  • Yes Mr Italian Director, i want to watch the back of the peloton rolling through the 500m to go, rather than watching the sprint unfold....

Geraint beats Ewan, which should be receive with much rejoicing here. :D

Ferrari? Only at the Giro.

2 sprint stages and 2 strange results.

    Good win for Greipel.

Don't know why, but I really can't warm to Caleb Ewan, so I'm not feeling much sympathy for him.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Gaviria completely out-paced by two, forth tier sprinters.

Think he stopped pedalling for split second when he came together with Ewan, lost momentum after that.

With the bonifications that should mean that Griepel is in the pink tomorrow.

He looked like he lost motivation once the win had gone. Nowhere near Greipel though.

    Zakarin back on. Good ride.
It looks like he lost 20 seconds. I'm not sure how, but it's there on the results.

Zakarin did end up losing 20 seconds at the finish.
Hugh Carthy took another big time hit, today losing two seconds shy of three minutes.

Him and Dombrowski are both 4'21 down on GC already. I'm assuming this is a deliberate ploy.

Split after the sprint for zakarin.

It's bad - I punched the air when Caleb pulled his pedal out.

Looks like he did a funny thing with his leg when bumped by Gavaria.

    Greipel keeps his GT record.
