So what does Tekle need for the mountains jersey?0
-
^That cat2 looks generous from the profile above0
-
It's long though, which is why it gets a cat 2 status.0
-
It's a lazy, lumpy stage, similar to yesterday so far.
As I type, Astana come to the front and begin to drive hard.
Early echelon alert for tomorrow."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Odd GPM sprint at Nuoro - Koshevoy and Oswian both went very early and then got dropped. Andreetta, Shalunov and Teklehaimanot took the top three spots, well timed by Andreetta. Nice crowds on the final slopes.0
-
Bunch is about 500m long on the descent as it opens up from some twists and turns. All very pretty. Break at 3:08 with 100km to go.0
-
Greipel and Nizzolo got gapped a bit there on the descent in a little group of 4. Greipel on the radio but they are only chilling at the front, so they got back on easy once the road tipped uphill again.0
-
Sam Bennett dropped early on the climb. Gap down to 1:20. Bunch wide across the road0
-
Koshevoy goes to nick the intermediate sprint from Teklehaimanot less than 100m from the line. Easy response from the DDD rider makes it three from three so far this Giro. The others didn't contest.0
-
Sam Bennett is back on0

Bardiani car keeping the team's image intact by almost taking out the rest of the break in an attempt to get up to Andreetta.0
-
The only climb I can think of that the peloton has tackled that is similar to this is Big Bear Lake.
Or Big Bore Lake as I referred to it.
This stage is heading for a 5pm finish with 61kms still to slog."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Big teams in attendance, just in case. Nothing more than a mechanical for Boaro happening though. Break inside a minute.0

Looks nice though

Break not co-operating. Oswian dropped by a couple of digs. No sign of life from the bunch.0
-
Bennett struggling again. Unwell according to Hatch/Kelly.0

There are close to 200 riders in the laughing group, today."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

Average speed: 33.33 km/h0
-
33.3 km/h average so far, apparently.
I could have kept up!!0 -
-
Break might miss out on the GPM if they aren't careful. Would mean that Benedetti keeps the jersey.0
-
3km to the GPM. Shalunov attacks and sheds Andreetta - then asks the others to rotate through; they don't seem too impressed. Andreetta back to the bunch.0
-
Koshevoy yo-yoing, gap 30s. Cars out of the gap.0
-
Teklehaimanot should have gone earlier there IMO. Still manages the jersey though0
-
Well, that ended up as being quite exciting."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

Teklehaimanot takes the GPM, gruppo compatto0
-
Glad he got it after two days in the break.0
-
Maglia Azzura for Teklehiemanot and job done for today.0
-
Haas attacks, chased by a Quickstep. Nizzolo dropped and passed by some of the convoy.0
