To add, Lusso will do a bespoke for you. Fancy something bigger than L but smaller than XL? Just ask and they'll see what they can do. It's not advertised but they just ask the nice ladies in the factory.

I think it just highlights alot of people give money to these crowdfunding/kickstarter things without really having a clue what they are funding.

I remember an old boss of mine during the dot com boom when spin outs, start ups and venture capitalist funding was all the rage, saying if it was that easy to make a million pound business over night from a simple idea, well they wouldnt be needing our help to make it work

fwiw I checked all my Vulpine stuff has made in China on it.

Of course it does - it's made in the same factory as swrve and all the other hipster/banker/estate agent style companies that do exactly the same this as Vulpine did.

TDSD will head down for a docu one day and you'll piles of Vulpine stuff next to Burton S/W 2017 in the same factory with employees eagerly cutting off the labels to change one from t'other.

Shame, I like some of their stuff, I have their padded pants, plus their shorts and trousers which is strong enough to last for MTB with out being annoyingly flappy on the CX.

Don't worry - have a look at a couple of the other hipster/city commuter sites and you'll exactly the same ones, but just with some different blurb "perfect for touring Parisienne patisseries in" or some such bollorcks.

Sorry - that looks really dull.

What's the long and short of it all?

What's the long and short of it all?

The excerpts etc suggest a salary of £90k, paying off a £200k charge to to a previous director the day before the insolvency and, well, those two bespoke bikes.

Don't forget an in house magazine produced to show off about their bespoke bikes. Sent to the 40k address' on the mailing list.

Are they really bespoke or about as bespoke as Ribble Bikebuilder with some awful copy next to them?

they didnt build the bikes - they got some artisan dude to make a nice set of his and hers bikes for the company founders.

If it was Vulpine who built them then the bars would be too short and the seat tube too long....

HE's not an artisan dude. He's either a very naughty boy or just some bloke with a beard and a penchant for wearing caps.

I suppose they coul,d sell them to pay off some of their creditors at least.

That one was built when they started the company. So will have been depreciated and ownership transferred to the bloke by now, for next to no money, I am sure. The two built for their anniversary may not be old enought to have gotten away with that yet...

Oh well - I am sure that they will be happy riding their custom built bikes while their creditors struggle to pay the bills in today's austerity society.

I guess that the irony with the new custom built bikes is that they were built to fit two specific people and if the business does still own them and want to sell them off, there are two specific people that might be in the market but would probably want to pay rock bottom prices for them. Anyone else would need to fit them and probably be prepared to pay even less...

    True, true.

    It's a win-win for the bourgeoisie.

And off they go to crowd fund another company punting out the same overpriced China produced clothing as the rest of them.

agreed totally, it was just further up the thread it was suggested the stuff was made in the UK which explained the price point and they hadnt off shored their manufacturing. I was just pointing out that doesnt appear to hold true for the stuff Ive got certainly....but who knows maybe they changed it in the past 2 years and thats where all the stock, sizing, quality issues came from.

Those you can alter easily, appalling hipster taste in colours are more difficult/expensive.

Certainly sounds like a right mess - guy sounds like a piece of work.

Need to be careful on these crowd funding sites!

    From the road.cc comments:

"One area of growth does stand out. A 100% rise in salaries to over £500k. Shared between 7 employees if one takes the 2016 prospectus figure. Oh and yes, remember this is a start up in its 4th year of trading. "
