It's possible the sardine could have been named after Sardinia.

Well, all at least the thread title is apt ... Jonathan F'ing Edwards has spolied my viewing after less than a minute (and as a 'presenter' who learned his craft under the wing of the BBC, the first thing he talks about is doping in cycling) … Why are all Olympians ar$eholes ...
Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it.

18 kms covered, a breakaway of 6 riders is 7 minutes clear already apparently. Not sure of the composition, but Daniel Teklehaimanot is there for Dimension Data.

Matt Hayman sounds exactly like Richie Porte: half asleep.
JE: "Matt, how is it different to be team leader in a GT."
MH: "I dunno because I've never been team leader."
    Nice one Johnny.

    It's all so dull.
Making Ashley and Juan Arrow look like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

Annoyingly, it looks like Ashley and Juan Antonio are actually doing coverage, but most likely just for ES International ... Edwards needs to up his trouser game as a MINIMUM ...

Mirco Maestri (Bardiani-CSF), Cesare Benedetti (Bora-Hansgrohe), Marcin Bialoblocki (CCC Sprandi Polkowice), Pavel Brutt (Gazprom-Rusvelo), Daniel Teklehaimanot (Dimension Data) and Eugert Zhupa (Wilier Selle Italia)

Lovely. Headwind followed by crosswinds for the later stages.
    Could be fun.

I was in both Olbia and Alghero last summer. Very nice but hardly a tough test.

I think after a few shows Edwards will come good. He loves cycling.

Really excited for the first GT of 2017. Hope it's raced hard

Absolutely. This is Italia! The land that spawned Colnago, Campagnolo, De Rosa, Ferrari, the fashion houses of Milan etc etc. I am surprised they were allowed to start with that combo.

Is Zhupa the Albanian champion? (Flashbacks to uni and a fascination with King Zog, Enver Hoxha, the Glorious Revolutionary Tractor Factory in Tirrana, the Albanian shop in Covent Garden...)

Of course there has to be a Yin to a Yang even with Italian design. For what other reason does Mario Cippolini exist?

Teklehaimanot went long for the 2nd GPM, but got mugged by Benedetti and Zhupa on the line
