Wheelsucker on Zwift

Picked up a wheelsucker last night in a race who would NOT take a turn. Couldn't drop him for 7 laps, no matter how hard I tried. Turns out he was exploiting a bug that somehow allows a rider to put in a little dig every now and then and pretty much coast for the rest of the time. F***ing annoying - much more so than IRL. Absolutely pointless as well, I finished in 20th, so nowhere near the front - not that there'd be any point in cheating to 'win' a race anyway, but at least it'd be a 'win' instead of '21st'. There are some strange people on there.
Fat chopper. Some racing. Some testing. Some crashing.

Go round to his house and pull the plug out of the wall. Alternatively, just get a grip.0

I've never gotten around to trying out Zwift, but this really baffles me; what's the point in doing a turbo session if you're not actually going to do any work?! You're just wasting your own time!
This is why I use TrainerRoad, there's no escaping the blue bars of doom...0 -
whats this bug you speak of .. not seen anything about it ????0

perhaps you should try it then, because when you do a workout there is no cheating ...... its only in races where you get people that will try and cheat .... bit like in real life really0 -
ITS NOT REAL!
ITS ONLY A SIMULATION!
GET OVER IT!0 -

even if it was real ... it doesn't really matter
Still cant find any reference to this bug though ..... is it a bug, or is it just one of the mirriad of excuses people use when they arnt as good ..... like the perpetual stories of power meter drop outs that happen always at the pivotal moment and mean the person cant bridge the gap or get dropped in the sprint.
why does no one ever loose because they just arnt good enough0 -

Some strange anti Zwift reactions on here lol.
I have my arguments with it.. and wind the Facebook group up constantly.. but at the moment it is delivering high quality training.0 -
What is this bug you speak of? Asking for a friend................0

Might as well stick an electric motor on the turbo ...0

Race team? LOL. It's a computer game, treat it as such.0

wonder how the op's problem differs from real life. It does not bother me in a real race or ride it should bother the OP.
you use zwift for training so why do you want people to take a turn?http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -
Here we go again. Just because you, personally, don't see the benefit to racing on it, doesn't mean that other people don't. For me, it's a good way of keeping form up during the winter and its relatively realistic (taking corners at 50km/h notwithstanding)
It hasn't been 'life-altering' for me, but it's definitely made a big difference to my training over the past two winters, and I'd have thought that a cycling forum that is specifically for online/turbo training would have less of the snarky sh*t that pervades other places.Fat chopper. Nobody has said that at all, but you need to get some perspective. Someone was on your wheel, so what? It would matter little in real life, it has zero importance on Zwift.0 -
I'm with you on this... I can easily get the 'red mist' whilst racing... usually means I am getting dropped so it dont last long... but the race intensities are very real to life in the Zwift abbreviated way it has when it comes to its race formats and yes, perceptions change. It is not an excuse however to accuse someone of a personality defect for goodness sakes.
I really dont know why we have to resort to defending a very successful format.....
Even as a very early adopter of Trainer Road... I would not go back to the blue bars of boredom .0 -
talking of racing ... any of you doing the 5am hilly WBR this sunday ? ... Its 3 laps of the Watopia original hilly course
Make a change to the normal flat routes and 1 lappers0 -
Completely agree with the OP - it's a game which is recognised as such and within the game there are organised races just to add to the competitiveness.
Now, we all like to win at games & races but accept that we can't always do that - but what we don't like is cheats - if there's a known bug then it's wrong to exploit it intentionally - it's like finding out that the person you're racing is using an e-bike ...
No actual harm done - it's not like they've robbed you of anything, if anything it may just have pushed you a bit harder - but it's just not nice and not the done thing.
Perhaps Zwift could introduce a Lance flag for anyone found to be cheating ... that way the cheaters can be shunned ...0 -

they do have algorithms for flagging riders that the simulation thinks are cheating and that rider gets a triangle above their head for anyone to see.
I don't think there is one for drafting though as this "known" bug doesn't seem to be known to zwift .. unless that is that drafting IS the bug ?0 -

There are many ways to cheat on Zwift and many people do. However this isn't cheating.0 -

I know there are reports of a drafting bug which seems to prevent a faster rider going past a slower one depsite putting in a huge effort.
I don't use Zwift so haven't come across bugs ...0 -
