There may have been a level of intransigence on both sides but there was valid opinion and even a smattering of fact.

I noticed a number of new posters in the last few days who took a more cycnical view than the forum longtimers,

    What thread?
    There was no Wiggins thread.

He means the Wiggins the Cheat? thread, which does seem to have gone. Wiggins the Legend is still there though but.
  • I never saw a Wiggins the Cheat thread. Did anyone else?

You weren't there, man. You don't know how it went down

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.
  • I shall conjure wcf to remind you all about it

It was determined my argument was so persuasive that it wasn't needed anymore

It will be resurrected, as the CMS thread prior to the 22nd February. A few were a little upset with the discussion and wanted it removed. What can you do but listen to those who scream loudest?

I thought was a good thread with strong opinions on both sides with a little fun in between.

I'm glad I never saw any Wiggins thread. I can imagine it starting out as a reasonable debate re the TUEs and transport of packages - with minority opinion largely respected - but attracting trolls from the asylum who in their desperate need to promote their own agenda of UKPostal/Sky-doping would drag the debate into a war of attrition, focused on small irrelevant asides, labelling opposing opinion nationalistic, branding the entire board doping apologists or worse, attempting to polarise the discussion and frantically googling wikipedia articles on anything/everything that might possibly win them one tiny side-battle in their on-going war on doping.

I for one am glad that such a thread never existed.

You could just send random links of Daily Mail articles to show the world they really are the invisible enemy we are all fighting

  • Thankfully it was put out of its misery.

There were some quite useful facts there, some good points and some less good points. Unfortunately it was derailed by one particular user who refused to actually read the answers in the thread and kept asking the same dumb questions over and over.

It was good to see some valid points being made and times have moved on from the standard bike radar response to anything potentially being dodgy with team sky etc which is a good thing.

Hopefully the moderator team will keep an eye on the poster and prevent them from ruining any more threads.

I spoke to the moderator. They praised some of the points I made but said stay away from criticising others. Just because you don't agree with another's point of view, doesn't mean they are wrong or that they are a troll.

My thoughts on the thread were that as soon as a point was made with regards to Sky and Brailsford not being forthright with the truth or looking not so good, many would attempt to derail the thread by posting silly pictures of cats, dogs, crying babies, stupid pictures with an arrow pointed to the head with a label "stupid". the Third Reich, cricketers etc.

If you are looking to point fingers perhaps look at those who do not want to discuss the finer points intelligently but just mock.
  • All of the answers you wanted were in the fucking thread you moron.

The fact that you couldn't be bothered to read it and get the answers is what caused the problems.

No one in their right mind would think for a moment that anything you were posting was worthy of any praise.

The 'stupid' cat and dog pictured added more to the thread than anything you posted. Now just take a moment to think about that.

Point in case ^^. To be honest, you've added nothing here, just more aggression and silencing of those who might hold a different opinion than your own.

The UKAD investigation is on-going, along with the CMS hearings and internal report by British Cycling, "all the answers are in the thread" - well they are not, that would not be possible. It was on-going thus the discussion grew from the moment Fancy Bears first released the TUES, through the publication about the package, the hearings etc.

Do you call everyone a moron who doesn't agree with you?

    Oh FFS.

The thread was salvageable. Some posters aren't.

It seems the Mail are busy crushing Beckham right now. Interesting how they spin last nights comments on TV about the Mail , as in they ignore it! ... and no comments that people might mention it

In amongst all of the talking down to people, smugness and irrelevant links.

And the slightly weird obsession with the mail's credibility.
