Nora wellies are the best. As recommended by someone who used to walk about 500 miles a year in them in the course of his work. Mine are now about 25 years old, and as good as the last time I wore them in anger.

Handy to know👍

Back to photography, and I've realised that trombones are quite tricky to get interesting angles/views on. This was tonight's effort, but not terribly thrilled by it. (It's a 1939 trombone, BTW - I was trying to get detail of the hand-engraving around the bell.)

Nearly forgot this one. Perfectly still today, making macros an easier affair. Not sure exactly what it is, but plenty of them in the verge next to my car. Their structure comes out nicely in B/W too.

Same type of plants as yesterday’s shot^^, this time backlit by the intense low morning sun, yes sun. Blimey, who’d’ve believed it!?

Small church that I presumed was abandoned, but the dead flowers have been changed since I went in last. The replacement flowers are now dead too, so part abandoned.

Trying to guess the church, but I need a clue. Pews look modern as they are screwed together and the strained glass looks Edwardian, but the chancel arch looks 11th or 12th century.

Not sure whether this is much of a clue, but here’s a pic I took outside, mainly for the cracked headstone. An easy church to miss.
Radical bridge shot. Certainly got a feeling of movement.

Think that's St Patrick in the stained glass window, but can't find more than a couple of those over your way and it's neither. Stumped.

I would've been surprised if you'd identified it, TBH.

Slightly early on my Edwardian guess for the strained glass - actually 1924. Lost its village hasn't it.
Did you manage to find the castle mound next door?

It’s only because you’ve highlighted it that I read anything about its history. No signs of a castle mound that I’ve ever noticed. You were correct on the chancel arch being 12th century. 👍

Apparently if there's a church dedicated to St Mary, there's very likely to have been a castle nearby.

Grotty weather gave a soft light. The lump of cliff on the right looks almost ready to slip.

Gives the impression that shots 20 years ago, today, and 20 years from now would look very different.
(My timescale could be off though. 😉)
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Further along the cliffs, they’ve fractured and are slumping in large areas, so possibly a large fall at some point.

I like the mossy covered trees of both this photo (with its contrasting sunset background) and the subsequent photo (what you guessed a boggy willow), in fact I'd quite like to see how the latter animates.

Of the last photo, I like the contrasting directions of the geology and the waves and their spray.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep a look out in spring to id the willow(?) tree and maybe another shot with leaves on.

Off for a nice Christmas in France, you lucky, lucky…

The bloke in the window is looking out wondering what the hell the nutter with the bike is up to.

Actually, 'the bloke' were [sic], happily, only too pleased to be photographed. Sorry about the two old blokes in between.

Sock lines are weirdly annoying me. 😂

And me. I might have not been thinking about my socks at the time.

Probably thinking what sort of nutter is in shorts in December.

Oh, thanks, now they're annoying me, too!
