Marshalling point on the 100+ mile relay race my running club organises every year. Pretty sure the weather is like this every year, it’s great when marshalling but was less good on the 13.2 mile, 1500 feet of climbing leg I ran a couple of hours earlier.

Almost at the end of my orchidfest break... last full day here till the end of July, and trying to make the most of it with plenty of snaps. A nice view or two today, especially of the famous 'perched valley' at Saoû.

^ Love the lighting on that bumble bee shot and great detail on the butterfly.0

The ridgeline shot works really well. What a great leading line.briantrumpet said:Almost at the end of my orchidfest break... last full day here till the end of July, and trying to make the most of it with plenty of snaps. A nice view or two today, especially of the famous 'perched valley' at Saoû.

Love it there. Yep, got a 3 mile recovery run in at lunchtime. Got a league race tomorrow evening so not much rest for the wickedPross said:
Thanks Pross.masjer said:More of the same.
Very nice though, is that Solva in the top one?
Yup, Solva harbour. The bottom one is looking back towards Solva village, which you can just see in the distance.
Have you recovered from your 13.2 mile epic? Good going!0 -

Thanks... yes, I liked the shapes too... having taken others that show the interior valley somewhat more clearly, I preferred this one for composition. It's actually got a proper road col (the Col du Pas de Lauzun) in the middle of it.0 -

I was on site at Hinkley Point last night and there was possibly the best sunset I’ve seen over the Severn Estuary with a rig of some sort in the foreground. It would have made a superb photo and a few of the workers were taking pictures but I was being driven by an escort so couldn’t get a shot. I probably wouldn’t have done it justice anyway and especially not on a phone but I’ve been looking for something decent to photograph for weeks.0

Just because it cheers me up that I can get here in 80 minutes from my front door. No photographic merit.
Bah, I've got to leave today. That doesn't cheer me up.

I don't normally get ladybirds in focus, especially tiddlers like this...

^ is that what they mean when they say, getting egg on your face?1

Haha, I almost made a comment about that myself.0 -
It's a small step for man, but a giant leap for ladybirdkind.masjer said:^ Kerb crawler.

Ha, the autofocus did just what I wanted it to. And Devon beats the French to it for lavender in flower.

Perfect weather for a bit of T-rex spotting.

Today’s trip to the woods turned out to be quite eventful.
Entering a field (in broad daylight), I noticed a fox cub and badger cub digging up ants(?). They were quite happily feeding together, totally oblivious to my presence.
Sneaking closer, the fox clocked me and sprang for cover.
The badger cub, on the other hand, was still none the wiser. A stealthy approach got me to within 4 metres. To my amazement, he carried on snaffling his dinner.
Finally, my cover was blown… Puffing himself up, his hackles raised, this brave little fellow stood his ground snarling, making comical mock charges.
I moved aside, and he bolted to the safety of the woods.
My second less enjoyable close encounter was with a herd of aggressive charging bullocks, but as you can see I lived to tell the tale…just!
Dare I say it, an adventure to rival Pinno and Beans’?
Calm cub.
Cross cub.

Nice try Masjer but no. You will have to get the fox and the badger to go along with you. Perhaps you could bribe them with worms.
I seem to be lacking many subscribers to Jolly Beans walk (in pictures) so thank you for the publicity nonetheless.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
