If you like that view, find an excuse to catch a southbound train from Blackfriars. The platform has stunning views of the Thames framed by the City and the Shard, with Tower Bridge in the background.

I travel into Blackfriars quite often. I concur wholeheartedly!

I think I have been on that new line. Is that the one that'll get you to the Cutty Sark?

I'm afraid I haven't got the patience these days to go back to film and my OM-1, bought new in 1981, I think. All mechanical - apart from the light meter (which needed a batttery), and even that had a machanical pointer you could see through the viewfinder.

We went to "Art Night London" (http://www.artnight.london/) on Saturday. Looked at a few exhibits (one where I narrowly missed out having a piece selected), had pizza and a couple of drinks...

One exhibit was in the Lumen Crypt Gallery at St John on Bethnal Green. On the way out, we spotted this guy. He reluctantly posed for a close up and then scowled at a group of art-loving ladies...

The trip was great, really lucky with the weather. Had time to do the climb up to La Bararde, the Lacets, Col du Mollard and the Croix de Fer as well as up to AdH via La Serenne.

Missed a gold time in the Marmotte by 20 minutes (again) - it never gets easier. I'm determined to get there though!
