    Ah come on.

Froome did attack on a descent to win a stage. It's all fair game.

    Yeah, boo...

I guess sky's pace just dissuaded everyone.

Yet the peloton is pretty big.

Suppose everyone else just couldn't be bothered then...

J Rod could push Dan Martin out of the top 10 here..

That must have been an incredible descent from Alaphilippe.

mollema is long gone so shouldn't do, unless kreuziger passes him as well

What's fair game? I'm just saying they were descending more like me. I prefer to stay up right. I don't see what's wrong with that. I can completely understand everyone in that group riding to protect their place on GC rather than loose it all. People may find that boring but that's psychology for you.

What a bunch of GC tossers.
    A bunch Piti type sprint.

Nibali lost 42s on the descent. Looks like he took one look at conditions and the other two, and conceded defeat.

Cracking smile there for Froomey at the line :D

    What an exciting stage too!

Judging GC riders bar JRod, Mollema (if he still counts) and Froome today.

    I enjoyed that.

Shame about the lack of GC attacks (apart from JRod!) but nice dramatic stage win. Really thought Nibali was going to take it for a while.

I don't envy anyone having to do that in that weather.

Guess Nibali didn't want to risk everything with Rio coming up.

Gutted we didn't see a Quitana or Yates attack though.

That really was pretty dull. Lots of top 10 riders within seconds of each other, and only kreuziger has a go. Humph.

Good stage, shame for the lack of action among the GC contenders... or should I say "content-ers"?

Think a lot of it was due to the parcours. In some respects the rain made the descent more exciting (or nerve-racking) for Froome fans. But it neutralised all the other GC riders as no-one was willing to risk what they already had. Yates isn't gonna risk his white jersey and a really fantastic tour overall. Even if Quitana has a lead over the top, he isn't going to hold off Bardet on the descent. The only one that could have animated the race was Bardet, but he's already in second.

Wish they just had a proper stage 20 with a mountain top finish.

Am I right that Aru was in the top 10 on GC yesterday? (can't remember)

After his finish today, he's nearly 20 mins off Froomey.
