So we are expecting a 3pm finish?

    Should be home by 2.30...

Weird that the peloton are seemingly having an easy day, would have thought they'd want to see how knackered Froome is from yesterday and make things hard.
Later than 3pm. I think that's about the time the break will reach the base of Ventoux.

Does anyone have the stats on speed? Is this the slowest tour since the 80s?

I've found the answer in case anyone else is interested. Current average speed is 40.493 km/hr. I guess that is only going to decrease over the mountains.

So, the team that had two of the biggest "safety" critics yesterday have their team drilling it on the front, today?

    Go figure.

Is there any reason EQS are riding other than due to their ineptitude yesterday?

I wondered if they might nail it to try and set Martin up for a stage win, but they've let the break go out a long way for that.

Indeed it might have been better to cook up the plan a little earlier in the day. I wondered if it was for Martin on GC, but it seems like a lot of effort for that. It would have been a lot easier for them to have put in 10 mins of work yesterday....

Martin's still 3rd on GC. Etixx's are no different to Sky's - trying to put GC rivals in difficulty.

If that was the plan, doing it yesterday would have been helpful.

That crash was nasty... Froome went for a p1ss to neutralise the race and let people back on.

He was on the front and went down first, Stannard didn't manage to avoid him
