At the risk of becoming UK Cycling Expert... queen stage, HM Queen 90th, surely it is the patriotic duty of Sir Froome or Sir Porte to win today?

ITV 4 should just about squeeze the penultimate climb into their coverage, where things might start (or have started) to kick off. Can't be helped. French tv doesn't kick off until 10 past the hour.
Very unlikely that Eurosport, arriving 20 minutes later, will catch anything other than the final climb.

I think Eurosport has more coverage via the website it will prob be the raw feed from aso so minus commentary . Some may say that's an improvement :)

Live video starts at 4:10pm CET according to cyclingfans.com, same as all week, which is a late for a relatively high profile race. That doesn't explain why Eurosport are starting 1/2 an hour later than previous stages.

    Dominik Nerz (Bora-Argon 18) is a non-starter

And they're off. Five have attacked from the gun.

What's the betting Daniel T goes for some early points today? Sky's tactics today, set the pace to neutralise attacks, then Froome to attack 3/4 of the way up the final climb?

It might be more complicated than that with attacks for the stage win and attacks from Porte/Contador.

It'll be a test of the new and improved 2016 SkyBot Artificial Intelligence Module.

Bertie had better get motoring on the Col du Madeleine if he wants to make up for yesterday, or else Froomey will just rinse and repeat yesterday's action

Two Tinkoff in the break. They'll soon stop working with the break, in anticipation of Bertie's attack.

Any Direct Energie riders left in the peloton, or are they all in the break?

At the bottom of La Madeleine, Alberto Contador and Fabio Aru have attacked. Six riders on the offensive at km 52: Contador and Jesper Hansen (Tinkoff), Aru (Astana), Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha), Dayer Quintana (Movistar) and Bjorn Thurau (Wanty)

Six riders from Team Sky lead the peloton 30 seconds behind Contador and Aru.

Kamikaze attack or a Landis-like special?

ARu and Contador caught by the Sky led peloton. Still up the road is a group of 15 who have 1:45 on peloton. In between is a group of 8, incl Daniel T.

No idea if this really was taken on the Madeleine, but pretend it was and that Contador was brought back by Stannard.

Is he still riding? He seems to have been around for ever.

And my telly says the wielrennen starts at 15h UK time.

Froome with Bertie over Madeleine. Bardet 7s in front of the pair.

    Edit 1:22 behind leaders

Why is this not on the telly box? You'd think there was a major European sporting competition on.

I fear there may be. Mot broadcasters aren't live until 3.30 which suggests ASO aren't supplying pictures until then. Let's hope I'm wrong.

ASO ticker can't keep up. There appears to be the lead group of 17 then a group of 9, then 2 Astana (Aru), then peloton
