Why do you keep calling them girls? Women surely...

Becasue I don't think the riders really care and if anyone really complained I'd direct them to the recent women's cycling 2016 or CX 2015/16 threads where - to be a bit frenchie about this - I am the only regular contributor and point out that actions speak louder than words...

Words do matter and regardless of your contributions on the women's cycling thread IMHO referring to them as girls is belittling. Trust you'll be referring to the boys race later as well...

I do commonly do that. Come on Boy! when shouting at the cycling, Come on Boys at the rugby etc...

I don't recall ever saying "Come on Men!", Sounds like I'm Lawrence of Arabia....

    stop listening to the velocast...

I stopped listening to the velocast sometime last year when my cc expired and they just cancelled my subscription.

You stay with the boys and girls then. All I'm saying is that in my line of work (where rampant sexism remains) calling professional women girls is exactly the sort of casual turn of phrase that is used to undermine someone.

So in the boys race, Valverde's gonna win?

    Can't see an alternative really...

Kwiatowski might have some "fire in his belly" after the weekend, Purito looks out of form but could pull something off, Is Gasparotto riding today?

    Gasparotto won't win.

Martin has often had the fastest ascent time.

    Odds are:

    Valverde 4-1
    Martin 6-1
    gerrans 8-1 (stupid...)
    JRod 14-1

Still can get odds on Henao mind...

    J rod looks decent EW.

I've seen Kiwa as long as 29-1

Dan Martin now has a team that will get him in the right starting position rather than hanging around at the back.

Why those odds on Gerrans when OGE are riding for Albasini (a FF favourite I recall :D)

Love to be proved wrong, but Purito ain't firing on all cylinders at the moment.

    Martin seems keen...

Are Boyz II Men riding? Or is it the End of the Road for them?

I sense that's a great pun, but I just was never into BoyzIIMen...

10 to go for the girls, Carmen Small has a small gap in front of the usual suspects

Maybe Valverde, I'd kinda like him not to win, I think this one has Dan Martin as a winner if he positions himself well enough.

One of the French Eurosport commentators tore into Schleck for frequently taking unnecessary risks while moving around in the peloton. Does he really do that or just fall off at the drop of a hat?

And I have a second question for you all. Why does Movistar not believe in aero helmets?

A lot of them don't ride the canyon aero bike either.

Catlike don't do one - just a cover for the normal mixino helmet.

Guess what, they probably don't make much difference when you're in the middle of the peloton...!
